One hour phone discussion isn't a non issue IMO

Was it an hour? It's a non issue to start but Baertschi's agent is likely someone hard to deal with. He was Niederreiter's agent and was the one who pushed for a trade from the Islanders. When Baertschi was still with the Flames, there was all these rumors that Sven wasn't going to re-sign.

Desjardins cannot understand NHL hockey.

He is now ruining prospect development.

Get him out of here before he poisons the harvest

I think the "history" talk doesn't make Willie look good at all. He should be able to tell who is a good player and who is not. Connor McDavid has "no history".

He's too old for a first time NHL coach.

We need a guy who is a veteran like Crawford
Or a guy who can think outside the box like Travis Green

I love how Pass it to Bulis characterized it:

Putting Together the Canucks’ Lineup should not be this Hard

I’m not claiming to be any sort of coaching genius or hockey guru. That’s kind of the point: these are not difficult decisions to make. In fact, they seem painfully obvious. Here are three lineup decisions that seem really easy to make:

[...]

1. Get Yannick Weber in the lineup and put him on the power play.

[...]

2. Don’t put Derek Dorsett on the second line.

[...]

3. Put a winger on the Sedins’ wing.

I am personally against Travis Green as head coach.

Do not think he is the right coach for the youngsters. Travis needs more seasoning in the AHL. He's only been a head coach for like 2 seasons. Simply not ready IMO.

Would love a guy like Tippett here.

Bring back Marc Crawford. Maybe he can convince Matthews to pull a Lindros :naughty:

Green has been really good with the youngsters down in Utica.

Graduating him to the NHL along with our prospects would be a shrewd move next off-season.

Eh, my biggest problem with Green is not playing the prospects in prominent roles.

Blashill is a good example of a coach that developed AND won. That is the kind of coach we need.

This really says something

What? That one team thought Torts brings more value than anyone in the league though Kassian or Lack did? You could argue that Benning overvalued Prust but if you think Benning valued Prust at the same level as Dorsett a 3rd rounder. Then it was a 5th and Kassian for Prust. Kassian must have been worth less than a 3rd round pick around the league. Lack's trade value was a early third round pick. Everyone in the league knew they were available, no one thought they were more valuable than this including Benning. Logic says that Benning got either proper value or very close to proper value. There was not way he was getting mid or early 2nd round value for either. Blame Benning for trading Kassian, Lack if you want but the value is hard to argue when they were on the open market for months and were traded at the last moment possible.

heh

It's been shown time and time again that simply because Kassian/Lack returned what they did, that's not what the market determined or any of that other BS.

Not denying Blashill is a good coach as he is but he had a lot more to work with in Grand Rapids then Travis does in Utica

Can you elaborate on this more? Not saying you're wrong, but I seem to hear often how great Green is but I don't really understand where it's coming from.
