Seeing as this is a thing that goes beyond Tortz as a coach, I don't get why we're blaming the coach. We had this under AV and now under Tortz, there is another thing we should be blaming.

Canucks worst offensive season since mid 80's.

Canucks worst period since mid 80's

This isn't recent

Hated to watch that for you guys. Wow your organization is screwed. At least youll always be better than the Oilers for at least another 8 months.

Make my day.
1 penalty should not destroy a team up 3-0...3 or 4 penalties shouldn't

Lack didn't give up a bad goal until the 4th one. PK not so good.

We've seen Torts teams melting down all season in the 3rd, no matter which goalie is in. You would think a Torts team would know how to defend a lead, cut down on errors and breakaways but they are awful at it.

We'll be better than the Oilers forever once Kesler's traded for a young skill centre and management drafts another skilled forward (or a potential #1D) in the first round.

The future will be exciting.

maybe vigneault wasn't the problem. at least with him the team could hold a lead and score goals. now he's doing a great job in NY

The thing is torts rangers were consistently the best team at holding 2nd period leads nearly every season, now hes coaching the worst.

Six points behind Dallas for the last playoff spot and Dallas has 3 games at hand with Pheonix and Winnipeg both ahead of Vancouver in points and games at hand as well.

Would it just be best to finish the season with Torts and hope for a good draft pick and then go from there?

I finally sense the perils an actual terrible season.

This is breaking our guys apart, and I actually feel horrible for them. I love this team, and thus love our players. It just pains me watching them beat up on themselves like this.

There's no way Kesler, Edler and Bieksa are sticking around past this off-season should the Canucks continue this downward trend.

You just can't keep proud guys (not Edler, to be moved for different reason) like this around and completely ruin their spirits. All the Canucks can do now is look to give guys they're looking to move more favourable QoC/zone starts to pump their value up for the off-season.

Lack is young, and this impending **** storm that's about to hit will be a great way to test out his mental toughness - one of the most important attributes of a great goalie.

As for Torts... He needs to find a way to adjust his expectations and mindset, because I know he demands and expects a lot of out of his players. He's going to have a mental meltdown if the team keeps losing.

Would like to see our entire western scouting staff, starting with Delorme, taken out back and shot.

wait, what? if i recall we at least made the playoffs comfortably last year. i''m pretty sure when tortorella was hired his mission statement wasn't "it's okay if you don't make the playoffs because they're already bad and getting worse."

it would have been "these guys can make the playoffs but need a hard-nosed guy to guide them through it when they do."

only... as it happens...

We did not have this under AV. We were a mediocre and declining team that was handcuffed by big contracts and a lower salary cap. This season has been a joke, but we managed to free up a bunch of cap space and will soon have even more. A change in coaching and a quick re-tool can easily have us in good shape again. See the Boston Red Sox in 2013 after dumping Bobby Valentine and a few lousy contracts.

The team defense and structure is on Torts and it has been terrible in 3rd periods. Period.

Came here for some "game over man, game over" clips, and of course, "I say we nuke the whole thing from orbit, it's the only way to be sure."

I am disappoint.

A lot of this is being pinned on Lack and he didn't have a strong game obviously, but this whole meltdown started with a very asinine penalty by Jensen...it went downhill fast from there.

I think that penalty was a pretty weak call.

The Bieksa net bump was stupid.

The Sestito hit was borderline - guy turned his back but Sestito shouldn't have been charging anyway.

This was a team collapse.

It would be nice if we could avoid the projections of what this one game means for Lack but I don't expect that. We've got the Red Sox fans of the NHL here. Anything negative is the omen of imminent collapse in all phases.
