We're not trading Willander.
If Noah Dobson is available, we most definitely are.

No they aren’t. Making a play for Dobson, given what he’d cost to acquire, is foolish from a Canucks’ POV.If Noah Dobson is available, we most definitely are.
Add in Coyle and you have a dealThrowing this out there McAvoy for Pettersson 1 for 1.
Is Dobson legitimately available though? Oh all the guys on the roster, why do the NYI trade him?
I think Pettersson from Pittsburgh makes the most sense as we get closer to the TDL.
1yr at $4mil then an RFA. Top pairing dman whose 24yo?Contract status.
Same here. Would be a good partner for Willander going forward but what is a realistic contract ask for him? I doubt Vancouver is paying a high price in trade capital for a rental.I think Pettersson from Pittsburgh makes the most sense as we get closer to the TDL.
Depends. I think you can give him a 5yr 5.5-6mil deal and be okay. I think he could get slightly longer or more. Jake McCabe might be a good comparison. The dman market coming isn't all that great. It's either top end like Provorov or Orlov or you're in the sub $2mil range. Not a ton of the mid-level guys, especially those with top pairing capabilities.Same here. Lekk isn’t going for a guy like Marcus Pettersson. 2nd+B prospect sure. I imagine he’s a guy on the Canucks’ radar given Allvin and Rutherford’s history with him.Depends. Rental wise, as Emp has said, Pettersson+2nd for Pettersson retained a bit could be pretty easy to pull off. I might as for the 1st if he's willing to negotiate an extension. That said, we would also love to take Lekkerimaki.

X Doubt.
Don’t tell him he was traded.Ah you misunderstood. The canucks want a Top 4 guy that moves the puck to his own teammates not to players on the other team.
up for a new contract at the end of the year, and there's a debate amongst fans as to if he's actually worth what he's going to get (9M+)1yr at $4mil then an RFA. Top pairing dman whose 24yo?

Montreal might move Matheson?According to Frank:
- Canucks are already in the market talking to teams regarding options to improve their Top 4 D
- Canucks want to get ahead of the deadline rush, much like they did last year when they acquired Zadorov in December
-Branstrom has been a pleasant surprise on the bottom pair but they want a bigger body, puck mover that is a legit top 4 D
- They might internally have the answer with Tom Willander who is a point per game 19 yr old Right Shot Dman for Boston University and was just recently named Hockey East Dman of the Week. Could they get him to sign just in time for the playoffs?
Thoughts? Which, bigger, legit Top4 Dman with Puck Moving capabilities will be available?

Dobson really doesn’t make a lot of sense for a team that already has Hughes and Hronek, especially if acquisition cost is high. Dobson isn’t great defensively, hardly PK’s and one of his biggest assets is his ability to QB a PP, something nullified by a team that already has Hughes. I’d much rather see them go after a different target and unless they’ve soured on Hronek, I think they would too.Everything we've seen from this management suggest they swing for the fences, they are not scared off by acquisition cost. It really comes down to if they'd be interested in Dobson (IF he were available, huge if), but I think they would.

I agree we could and it would be an option, but the deal needs to make sense and Dobson is about to get paid.If Noah Dobson is available, we most definitely are.
I do disagree with your logic, I also think the team would be very difficult to play against and the transition game would be, or at least should be the best in the NHL. Would almost want to move Myers and souray to the third pair and find an appropriate partner for Dobson if he came. This team, with its goaltending, and its playing style, should be built from the back end out.Dobson really doesn’t make a lot of sense for a team that already has Hughes and Hronek, especially if acquisition cost is high. How are we affording Dobson’s likely $9M asking price after this season?I do disagree with your logic, I also think the team would be very difficult to play against and the transition game would be, or at least should be the best in the NHL. If it cost Stevie a 2nd to dump Walman, it'll cost him 2 firsts to move HollA wild Justin Holl appeared.
He moves the puck...I mean not well but it moves. What you give for him? A pokeball and a 3rd round pick is okay.
make him disappear again pleaseA wild Justin Holl appeared.

The only path I can see is trading Pettersson, but we either need a center back as well or to have the parts to get a second line center. We also need money for Boeser as he is looking like he will hit 40 again. How are we affording Dobson’s likely $9M asking price after this season?
So in other words, he’s not a good target unless the team makes a dramatic move. The only path I can see is trading Pettersson, but we either need a center back as well or to have the parts to get a second line center. We also need money for Boeser as he is looking like he will hit 40 again.
I’m not sure I agree with the framework of your response. Do you think a small move takes this team over the top?So in other words, he’s not a good target unless the team makes a dramatic move.
