I’m not sure I agree with the framework of your response. Do you think a small move takes this team over the top?
No, I just don’t think targeting a defenseman that will soon be looking for $9M+, and spending the few assets this team has to do so, makes any sense, unless that defenseman brings Norris calibre defensive play, which Dobson doesn’t. There’s a reason Islanders’ fans are looking to get rid of a 24 year old defender rather than pay him.

To some degree with seems that your prospective is shifting or at least the framing. It went from not big moves to, nope not this guy. I think he would be good in Vancouver with the coaching staff we have. I also think Canucks fans are ready to trade Pettersson and he’s a stud. Sometimes players timelines don’t align with team timelines and the islanders need to rebuild or refresh or something.

What are you talking about? The original post of mine you quoted I said I didn’t think Dobson was a good fit, especially at his expected cost. I’m fine if the team makes a big move, I just don’t think it should be for Dobson. That’s always been my viewpoint.

Allvin will get something done in due course. Canucks are right where they should be, and get Joshua back soon. They have a hole on the second pair, but it hasn’t caused too much concern as of yet.

I wouldn’t pay the assets for Dobson. He won’t be pp1 in Vancouver, and isn’t really what we need. Getting a mobile stay at home D is a much bigger need, and usually does not carry the cost of acquiring an offensive D man like Dobson.
