just watched the sportsnet feed to figure out the myers thing. i don't think myers saw the garland thing. he had something going on with bouchard on their board battle.
bouchard had his stick up when myers checked him on the boards just as the whistle went and he did something to myers that caused myers to turn back as he came off the check and give bouchard a two handed slash that looked like a retaliation. at that point bouchard closed on myers and got a stick in the chops. still a suspension but it looks like bouchard might have speared him first.

Stop with this Crosby crap. Dude severed Methot's finger with a dirty slash and he was 30 years old. Penguins are a spoiled franchise and the league had to gift them 2 superstars because Mario wanted to relocate the team if they continue to suck. They are the golden baby of the NHL. Say what you want about the the oilers but they stuck with the team for 10+ years of incompetent management. I also give them huge props for how they treated the Sedins in their final game despite hating their guts for feasting on those weak oiler teams.

Same problems remain, still a good win, especially consider McDavid's cross check on Garland. I highly, HIGHLY doubt that he'll get anything more than a pat on the back by the league. This is Hairy Buttman we're talking about here, and the whole league is all too eager line up and suck McDavid's dick.
Miller had a good show, of course. Not sure why he's not bringing that kind of intensity to more games.

Rewatched hilites that was a gutsy game and they took no sh.t at end that is finding the stuff that wins games .

Wrong. A lot of us tend to be fair when it comes to Hughes. If he gets hit cleanly, not many on this board will call it dirty or insult said player.
The difference is McDavid has a history of doing this dirty shit on our players regularly and hence rightfully gets called out on it.
If we had McDavid, I'd would certainly call him out on his BS. Did it for Miller and Petey in the past, and in case you don't know, other users have done the same.
There were a lot of people that called out Cooke on his BS., and Cooke wasn't as popular as you think he was. Neither was Brashear for that matter and both played lengthy on the Canucks.
You can cope as much as you want, but facts are facts.

I had a look at the replay again, first McDavid basically sat on top of Garland for 5-6 seconds, then Garland and McDavid got tangled up for about the same amount of time. And of course, that justified the cross check on Garland's face with the stick.

That first period! Wow. Skinner kept the Oilers in it early (Demko looked shaky on the first 2 goals). Both our Star centres played with a ton of effort tonight, Miller was a beast defensively and had 2 points to go along with 18 out of 22 face-off wins. Pettersson was engaged, playing physical, winning puck battles. Let’s go!

Folks tended to turn a blind eye to Burrows/Kesler's more egregious stunts, to be entirely fair.
Drai is easy to respect.
Like yea, on one hand, #$@% him and everyone that looks like him...
On the other, he has been able to shine from the shadow of McDavid, even outplaying him many times. Insane playoff numbers with serious injuries. Pretty much single handedly won the series against us.

I mean Petey held, then McD held. First guy to cross-check someone in the head was McBaby. So that's where some of the animosity is coming from in this scenario. But both Myers and McD should be suspended, no way McD gets more than a couple games. I just hope Myers doesn't get a longer suspension because that'd be clear bias.

Not going to be a popular fact, but it is what it's like to be part of a fanbase in a big hockey city.
During last season's playoffs, I spent time in both team's threads. I noticed both fanbases are pretty much the same without ever wanting to admit it.
GDT threads of calling the other team's star players whiny or divers, dirty plays by the other team, refs are terrible and let the other team get away with so much, disappointed in their own team's performance, calling out their own players not doing enough, calling the other team's fanbase the most annoying in the entire league, etc.
Sound familiar? We're yelling at a mirror.
It's all fun to be passionate about our favourite team, but just wondering if anyone legitimately doesn't see this.... lol (And it's no different with Leaf fanbase either).
