you are what you eat as they say

I've been laughing my ass off last 5 mins reading through it. Comedy gold!

It's actually insane. Like full-on delusion.

The whole fanbase is like Ekholm committing the most blatant high stick in history on Hoglander and then screaming at the ref when he gets called.

This is also literally the very game after McDavid inexplicably went unpenalized for a cheap elbow that caused a concussion, and shouldn't even have been playing tonight.

Oilers GDT is insane. They actually think they were jobbed by the refs tonight after they basically got away with murder all game.
Don't know what both fanbases were watching to be honest.

Both teams got away with 1 penalty and all the ones that were called were good calls.

This was not a poorly officiated game, at least by NHL standards.

so everyone is saying garland should have got a penalty before the cross check, mcdavid was literally laying on garland lol.

McDavid threw a forearm shiver to Garland that knocked him down and caused the initial pileup.

Then McDavid basically sat on Garland although Garland was (totally legally) lying on McDavid's stick once he had been knocked down.

Then McDavid punched Garland in the head.

Then Garland legitimately interfered with McDavid.

Then McDavid had his usual tantrum and cross-checked Garland in the head.

shit it somehow didn’t occur to me that there would be a main board thread to dive into
I just had a look -- everyone saying "they should have called a penalty on Garland!" Uh, they did. In the meantime, Edmonton had the puck and the goalie was already out... whether or not they called it right away, what was supposed to happen that didn't?

Major difference in the 2 cross checks. Myers was reacting to a player coming at him. Yes it was a cross check but I don't think it was suspension worthy.

McDavid however, cross checked a player in the side of the head who wasn't even looking at him. I consider that way more egregious.
as far as the hold was concerned, McDavid held Garland down first, after Pettersson was held down at the other end. All 3 should have been interference penalties.

And the "everyone else has minors" should have meant 5 players for the Oil, and 4 for the Canucks, because Demko did nothing.

Not that it mattered ... Nice win by the Canucks, as I predicted at the start of the period, the game was already in the bag!
Right, so in other words it's going to be a $5k fine to McJesus and 5 games for Myers.

It was totally fine for the most part other than the blatant neck-spear by McDavid on Hronek at the end of the 2nd period getting missed.

Living in such an embarrassing shithole can do that for ya.
The meth thing is actually true...

Among major Canadian cities, methamphetamine possession rates in 2017 were the highest in Edmonton (80.82 per 100,000), Saskatoon (66.9 per 100,000), Vancouver (42.22 per 100,000) and Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo (34.12 per 100,000)

I haven't been able to watch lately, but has Petey been this engaged defensively for the last while? I know his offensive game has dissapeared, but I don't recall him playing like someone pissed in his cereal in a long time.

That last minute was wild. What's forgotten there behind the craziness is Bouchard held Petey to create a 5 on 4 upfront for a good 10 seconds behind the play. That should've been called and ended the game right there.

Then McDavid lay on top of Garland, who then lay on McDavid, and then because Garland had the audacity to try the same thing as him, McDavid felt Garland deserved a cross-check in the face.

This was intentional, and unlike Soucy who got suspended after McDavid fell a split second before the hit (who was trying to get in his face), this f***er was clearly going for Garlands face while Garland was moving away. Bush league stuff.

The Oilers forums are probably going wild, but it's honestly not worth reading - they've been delulu since they drafted Hall in 2010, nothing's changing now.

They missed me when they did that count, so Vancouver should be higher.

On a serious note they finally evicted one of my neighbours who was a meth addict. her dad bought the place, and she stop paying the maintenance fees, and paying him whatever the rent was. Took the cops to get her out.

From where I sit we had the first 3 PP's and two lucky/flukey goals to start the game and then we hung on for dear life. Demko got his 3rd win in 10 with a scintilating .867 performance. Nice savage ending to "Hockey Day in Canada". Miller incredible in the dot; watch him suck next game. I am not exactly encouraged; even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then...

They are ao entitled and braindead to the point that they make the Leafs and Avs fanbase on here look tolerable and decent in comparison.
