Here we go again with the not a starter bs. You guys are like vultures. I would have thought that a long run of good play would have earned some benefit of the doubt, but nope a couple bad games and were back to the beginning..

Here's a newsflash, people. Every goalie in the world sometimes has a bad game or a couple bad games. Even Patrick Roy occasionally had a stretch of poor games. Its not proof of anything.

****ing vultures. It makes me sick.

I think he's a starter, just not a workhorse. The definition of a workhorse is a guy who can handle the workload Lack is getting and still play well consistently. You have to admit that Lack is starting to break down.

Also who's great idea was it to take out Kenins for a green Baertschi in an extremely important game?

He's not even slightly the problem, Baertschi has played well and created chances.

Want to be annoyed by something? Be annoyed that Lack has been played into exhaustion, be annoyed Linden Vey take a regular shift at center, be annoyed that Bieksa and Sbisa is still a thing.

Yep, it's pretty embarrassing. Not only is he playing a ton of games but he is facing a ridiculous number of shots. People bring up guys like Quick, but Lack has faced nearly 40% more shots than Quick has over the last 6 weeks. Here are the top 10 goalies in terms of shots faced over that time period:

Lack: 657
Smith: 591
Dubnyk: 572
Price: 524
Holtby: 524
Rask: 511
Hammond: 499
Schneider: 493
Varlamov: 490
Quick: 444

It's simply not a sustainable workload for any goalie. Quick would have to start 10 more games before he caught up to Lack in shots faced.

Opendoor(?) posted earlier that not even Luongo has had a stretch of games like what Lack is playing.

Well, he's been stellar in Utica. Maybe it's a bit premature but Kenins needed to sit and Id rather Barts over McMillan.

Fair enough. Better Barts than McMillan.

While Baertschi has earned enough merit to play in a huge game like today?

Not saying Kenins has been good, but he's been far from bad.

edit:

Also you guys need to relax. I'm not saying Baertschi has played bad at all. Just trying to see the justification.

Geez.

Why is this a huge game? Our playoff hopes certainly don't depend on it. Baert has lit up the AHL and one kassian and Richardson get back there won't be a chance to give him a look up here.

Looks like we aren't going to score again this game...

Onto Monday

I not worried the pens are in the same scenario as us....they have one less game played than us but they are dropping in the standing and not guarantee playoff spot....we will get in just maybe last day or something

That's what I mean.they've been circling around for weeks hoping lack has a bad game so they can trot out the tired not a starter arguments.its sickening.

I guess there's a few who want lack to fail. personally I want both goalies to play well all the time but Lack (just like any other player) deserves criticism when it's merited. Doesn't mean he can't be a starter or that he's any less amazing.

But yeah the weird Team Lack vs Team Miller twilight fandom stuff is messed up.

It's the way they look against big, strong teams. When said teams decide to turn it up the Canucks just get manhandled. Credit to them that they've been able to pot 3 goals but I think they caught the Jets taking their foot off the gas. Now the Jets smell blood and again the Canucks seem powerless to do anything about it. They need to get bigger and stronger.

They need to get quicker and more mobile, particularly our D. You have our entire bottom 4 standing still most of the times while other faster teams start skating circles in the offensive zone.

Our top centers are slow. H. Sedin and Bonino. Makes it almost impossible to capitalize on odd man rushes nowadays.

You are over dramatic and seemingly have little ability to read besides the obvious. I did not say Baertschi was a problem anywhere.

PS: I'm already annoyed by those things.

Even if this team makes the playoffs, it will be a slaughter against LA.

5 games tops as Willie D will be in way over his head against Sloth.

Good for them if they make the playoffs but will still feel like a lost season.

Also, JB needs to trade Bieksa before he's worth **** all.

You have no idea how we'll fair against La in the playoffs. Have some faith. Predicting doom all the time unless we play easy teams is silly.

Why did he "need" to sit anymore than the wingers on vey's line?

It's incredible that fluke goals like kenins early goals and dorsett's recent goals are enough to sway public opinion

Kenins is he more effective player but he's a rookie so he's the auto scratch. Tie certainly doesn't go to the young guy like we were told.
