If that pick isn't protected I'd look at it.Agreed. Better move would be Barzal and their 1st for Pettersson. See if that gains any traction with the Canucks.
And people wonder why the NYI are a constantly middling team eh?We are NOT trading Brazal and Dobson to Van....Stop! Not happening. Maybe one but I think it's a mistake. I'm holding on to Dobson and Brazal for the new GM and coach to decide on our direction and what players they want to keep.
again, we are not giving up a top 5 pick in this draft...don't care if it's EP
I mean, yeah, I'm sure you would do it if you removed the dumps on the Isles side and added two pieces worth a fair bit, but there's little to no reason for the Isles to do that.I would love to target Dobson, but not if we add Cszikas and engvall's cap in the deal.
A 1st unprotected + Dobson + UFA Nelson would be something I would do honestly.
I mean he’s not great defensivley, and most of his points come off of the PP so they’d for sure take a massive hit.Love dobson but how effective would he be not being the go-to guy? PP2 and 2nd pair. Canucks also then have a huge hole at center. Not to mention there's gotta be more palatable ways to balance the cap than Engvall.
Dobson + Barzal for EP + Tom Willander + Jonathan Lekkerimäki
Vancouver can toss in a dump contract to make the AAVs work.
NYIs become a bottom 3 NHL team instantly and can start to rebuild via the 2025 draft and the two young prospects from Vancouver.
Vancouver moves on from an enigmatic 1C, lands a top pair D in his prime and an awesome skating low end 1C that is from the area.
Who says no? I think it's the NYIs.
I don’t understand it from the Canucks POV. So much of Dobson’s value comes from being a PP QB, something he won’t do in Vancouver unless they go old school with two dmen on the PP.
The Canucks need puck movers, but this is likely too much of a luxury add. The type of player the Canucks should look for are more similar to Hanafin than Dobson.

I do.Canucks are very very high on Willander and rightfully so. Comparison wise, pundits have compared his game to Mcavoy/Faber. Will probably be a top pairing partner for Q Hughes for the next decade.
They probably see him being as good as Dobson in 2/3 yrs.
Barzal is nowhere near as good as EP and is also a free agent in 3 yrs.
Lekkerimaki leads the Canucks AHL team in goals and points in his 20 yr old season after winning WJC MVP last year. He also led the u18 Worlds in points 2 years ago.
but you think its NYI that will say no?
He’s better than Andrew Gross atleast. I think there’s more sane people who rent rooms at the Coliseum Motor Inn weekly though then good takes he’s had in total.Rosner is a massive fraud.
Rosner is a blogger turned media guy. He’s around the team and seems like a genuine good kid. That being said, im not sure how many real industry sources he has. This feels way more speculative by him than anything. You should take anything from The Hockey News and throw it in the garbage.
2031 is in 3 years?Barzal is nowhere near as good as EP and is also a free agent in 3 yrs.
That would be insane for NYI to do, never gonna happen. Nucks fans are gonna be so disappointed in the eventual return for EP if this is the expectation. Our top 2 Centres both 32+? Miller and Nelson with no Centre prospect in the pipeline.. Not so sure about that. Plus Nelson could walk. Seems like a short sighted move.
Id rather do Barzal Dobson for Petterson and 1st.
