I would love to target Dobson, but not if we add Cszikas and engvall's cap in the deal.

A 1st unprotected + Dobson + UFA Nelson would be something I would do honestly.

Our top 2 Centres both 32+? Miller and Nelson with no Centre prospect in the pipeline.. Not so sure about that. Plus Nelson could walk. Seems like a short sighted move.

Id rather do Barzal Dobson for Petterson and 1st.

According to The Hockey News Stefan Rosner, per industry sources, the Canucks have targeted Noah Dobson.

Rosner implies that NYI wouldnt be interested in JT Miller but perhaps more so Elias Pettersson.

Rosner's proposal:

1st rnd pick
Dobson
Cszikas
Engvall

for

Pettersson

No way in hell we are giving up a 1st rounder. Right now we have the #5 pick in draft.... If we do, Lou should be shot!~

Barzal + Dobson would cost more then just Petey and a late 1st.
Barzal for Petey 1 for 1 is more likely but still would pass

Late 1st?

Canucks are struggling to stay above the playoff bar. That can very much be a mid 1st pick considering all the turmoil and injuries the team is going through.

but ya Canucks probably might have to add still..

Streets of NY might be too mean for sensitive Pete.

But that aside, that seems like an overpay from NYI. A Center swap for RHD swap makes sense value wise. But 11.6M for Pettersson and how he’s performed since extension, id view him as overpaid. And thus there’s some negative cap value involved in acquiring Peterrsson.

I could see the trade as Dobson+ for Pettersson.

But that + should be very small.

We are NOT trading Brazal and Dobson to Van....Stop! Not happening. Maybe one but I think it's a mistake. I'm holding on to Dobson and Brazal for the new GM and coach to decide on our direction and what players they want to keep.

I think Barzal and the Islanders 1st makes the most sense. Canucks can then try to get a D another way with their 1st and the Islanders 1st.
again, we are not giving up a top 5 pick in this draft...don't care if it's EP

Islanders are getting a top 5 pick in this draft? It's a little early to say that. There is a massive amount of teams that have 33-38 pts. Islanders can easily end up with the 12th pick.

An no, you shouldn't trade the pick unprotected.

Canucks should just trade Miller to the Rags...We will keep Dobson.

Coming from a Montreal fan, this quote is comical. The same fans, year after year all they talk about is trading for high trade picks. Sorry we are in a rebuiding stage, this pick is OFF limits.

Another Habs jab. Didn't read anything else because of it. I actually think this is flaming and mods should be all over this kind of stuff. It's counter productive. Didn't report it...hoping you can come to your senses first.

I actually have the Habs 1st and Flames/Panthers 1st in the mix for Pettersson offers. And yes, with protection but most likely an offseason offer on draft day. ;)

sorry didn't think the true would hurt that much? Tell me I'm wrong? Lets' look at all these trade postings from Mont fans. How many are always looking to trade players or lower picks to get another, yet another 1st rounder? hmm.

Not my backyard but from the outside looking in... I stand firm in what I said. Barzal and a 1st (yes with protection).

Not sure why you are so hostile about it. You are out of line now. Reply back with crap or insults and you go to ignore list. Your choice

This is what caused you to go hostile? Not sure why

I mean as a Canucks fan that would be great, but i don't think buffalo would go for that. Peterka is pretty damn good, and currently matching Pete in scoring.

I mean.. we have an abundance of wingers on this team and in pipeline and a shortage of actual Centers.. I wouldn't hate that deal.

Expensive d-core for Vancouver if they do this.

Plus Willander would be a target 100% for the islanders as a return.

You don’t just give up a right shot defenceman and not say give us your best prospect

A smart move is targeting a strong left side defenceman under contract to play with Willander

Then your top 4 is cemented for years
The Canucks would already be trading EP. How on earth would they also need to add their top prospect?

I mean trade aside, Peterson is 26, Dobson is 24. And Peterson is signed long term, so I don’t think age is a factor here.
I suppose it depends on why the Canucks are making this trade. If this trade is about resolving the Miller-Pettersson feud, then I see it. It's just that I see this more as a trade looking to push to secure a playoff spot. I don't see Pettersson as part of a potential Dobson trade. And yes, so I would wonder why the Isles would do this. Sellers tend to move veterans and build up their youth

Dumb for Van to go after Dobson, in the long term. PP1 QB forced to play PP2 because of Hughes. No way you don't give up a top D prospect to get him, because you can't just dangle Petterson/Miller and not make it a massively complicated trade in terms of making the money work, not only for this year, but next as well since Dobson is on an expiring contract.

Vancouver would be dumb to give up on their D prospects, as they will need the ELC money to help them navigate the Cap for the next 3-5 years.

I can see why Dobson's name might be out there, because of his contract. Because you know that Lou wants to re-sign Nelson/Palmieri, because he can't help himself. Plus with Tsyplakov's contract needing to be renewed, there might not be much money left to sign Dobson.
