Rumor: Canucks going after Rossi?

I can see these teams having mutual interest :

To Vancouver: Rossi, 2027 3rd

To Minny: 2026 2nd, Mynio, Bains, Kunz, 2027 6th

Rossi then signs 8 years at $7 million/season. Also a possibility is rights to Brock Boeser in the trade as well so Minny can sign their homeboy to a 8 year contract.

Win win
so a bunch of nothing? and nothing picK lol

Wild fans might take some comfort in knowing that Rutherford and Allvin have a consistent track record of overpaying in trades, and often coming out on the losing end. In fact, at one press conference, they even admitted to overpaying as part of their strategy.

It’s remarkable that this level of decision-making is coming from people who are paid to manage an NHL franchise.

So there are reasons for great optimism if you're a Wild fan.
Wild fans are grateful for the recent Brett McLean hire by the Canucks.

I feel like Mynio and #15 for Rossi is a pretty reasonable deal, at least based on what Rossi is likely bringing back. I also think the Lekkerimaki suggestion is a good one.

Should the Wild trade him for that? No, but that seems pretty reasonable for what he'll bring back.
so wild should trade him for a pick they dont want? A d prospect who will never play because they have Spurgeon, Faber and Jiricek on RHD and Brodin, Middleton, Buium, and Lambos on LHD?

I think primarily it would be off the basis of Lekkerimaki + the 15th and Boeser's rights are just a nice throw in for need/fit.
why would wild want boeser's right? Also it's been reported wild aren't interested in picks especially this draft and would rather take 2026 picks from offersheet

Vancouver has a long history of ignoring right shot defense

so I wouldnt be surprised if they trade him

Are you talking about Willander?

Never say never but the Wild have Faber and just traded basically an entire drafts worth of picks for Jiricek. Spurgeon is also technically under contract for several more years. I really can't see what they'd do with Willander.

Lekkerimaki is more likely the asset that would be attached with the pick.

Yeah bizarre that anyone would focus on Boeser's rights in that deal. Lekkerimaki and #15 for Rossi is really good value for the Wild. I think it's too much from the Canucks but still realistic.

That said, if Minnesota is trading for Lekkerimaki I don't know that they'd also want Boeser's rights. I think the two would fill the same role, plus I figure Vancouver may want to re-sign Boeser if they're also trading Lekkerimaki.

Early negotiation rights to Boeser, Lekkerimaki, + 1st for Rossi ? Thoughts?
I'd think about it.

The Boeser rights are worth nothing, though. It has been consistently reported from MN's side that they have little to no interest in Boeser.

This draft starts to get thin in talent in the mid teens, especially for a team that has next to no interest in drafting yet another Dman. Most drafting rankings and Mocks have that part of the draft where Dmen besides Schafer are most likely to start getting picked. High ceiling forwards(i.e McQueen) will be picked clean by the time the picks get to double digits this year.

MN would be far better off making things work with Rossi than doing a 15th + Lekkerimaki. The clock is ticking on Kaprizov's contract, and they need NHL talent now, not down the road.

Yes Willander

if he appears in a trade, it would be so vancouver.

ive lost count of the GM's who have said you have to address right shot defense in the draft otherwise you pay through the nose is free agency or in trades.

The Wild are looking for a top 6 player in return for Rossi, whom they think is too soft to win anything.

This is nonsense.

Lekkerimaki has scored 6 points in the NHL, Boeser 434. What are you talking about?
