I didn't say they were equally as good right now, I said they fill the same role. Both are right handed goal scoring wingers. Lekkerimaki is just a 20 years old and not proven in the NHL yet.

Once Lekkerimaki is fully NHL ready (next year IMO), you're going to want to be playing the two in the same exact role. Maybe you need 2 top-6 right handed goal scoring wingers, in that case you could use both of them, but both guys are filling that role.

Rossi then signs 8 years at $7 million/season. Also a possibility is rights to Brock Boeser in the trade as well so Minny can sign their homeboy to a 8 year contract.

Yeah bizarre that anyone would focus on Boeser's rights in that deal. Lekkerimaki and #15 for Rossi is really good value for the Wild. I think it's too much from the Canucks but still realistic.

That said, if Minnesota is trading for Lekkerimaki I don't know that they'd also want Boeser's rights. I think the two would fill the same role, plus I figure Vancouver may want to re-sign Boeser if they're also trading Lekkerimaki.

I would offer up Hoglander too but I think Lekkerimaki is higher value. Hoglander is short but I wouldn't consider him small hes also sneakily dirty af and quite a pest. This past year he came in as the most in shape skater to training camp. Also despite his production currently I think he will breakout to be a legit top 6 (possible homer). Hoglander/Lekkerimaki + 1st (15th) for Rossi + Boeser negotiation rights. Or Connor Garland for Rossi one for one swap. Beyond that I don't see how Canucks could make a swing for Rossi. Also ironically the available pieces are quite small too so it doesn't really solve the issue/problem although I wouldn't consider Garland or Hoglander soft.

Yeah, Friedman came out and said we know what packages are out there for EP40 but that we'd rather solve our problem than trade our problem (If that makes sense).

Also would be outright dumb to roll into next season with Rossi as our #1

It was also reported that the only thing holding up a Rossi deal was the team not wanting to give him more than Boldy, which clearly isn't the case. Let's not take it as absolute certainty.
