Tanev played but edler didn't. Still, looking at the shot count (take it for what its worth, i didnt watch the game) 2 of the 3 games against teams above in the standings during the streak, the nucks were outshot by 10+, goaltending is making up for the difference rn.

I would say part of that is score effects. The team actually had the lead for a good part of both of those games, which they haven't for large chunks of the season. In the past the team was coming from behind and still getting outshot. This has been in part from trying to hang on to leads

I didnt mean it like the nucks are just a putrid team, it was just that that game was on the lv of the yotes and avs. So i was wondering if the team is truly better or simply the same but getting lucky

Nah man I didn't take it in a bad way your post,

We've been playing much better since that game against the flames. I think that was a huge wakeup moment for them the way the flames walked all over them.

Fully healthy (read: Tanev healthy) they are a legitimate wild card team.

It's funny that pretty much everybody wants to rebuild, but half the fanbase buys into the same delusion as management.

Would love to see actual metrics that "everybody wants to rebuild, but half the fanbase(mind you there are hundreds of thousands Canucks fans) buy in the same delusion as management."

No, we are definitely not for real. this is a very bright lipstick that we are painting on a pig. The silver lining is that we are being led by 2 of our future top 6 on this mini run, and it seems Baertschi is a solid top 6 and Horvat is for real. Our D is also a bright spot. This string of wins over the pacific is a mirage and is playing mind games with our fragile management.

What do you call the last 2 years? We have been rebuilding. Look at our Dcore over the last 2 years.

Just because management won't come out and outright say the words rebuild, doesn't mean that's what we haven't been doing all along. They have been injecting tons of youth into the whole team.

I find it extremely sad and depressing that there is a portion of the fan base that cheers on losing. It's actually pathetic.

So much this, no one should cheer for their team to lose and if they do, they're not real fans.

i'm sorry but we're not rebuilding. we either trade away draft picks or trade higher ones for lower ones (for example, we have a whopping 5 draft picks for the next draft), we let expiring contracts walk for free, and we buy at the deadline.

:shakehead

We drafted 5th last year and 6th the year before. Traded a 2nd for a young guy who's 4th in team scoring.

We're doing just fine. Go ahead and cheer for losses tho.

I do agree we ****ed up with letting Vrbata and Hamhuis walk for free tho

Canucks will probably respond by signing their 6 oldest players to 10 year extensions.....

I said it before even though im not a canucks fan, they have a scrappy young team. I love their work ethic. they could be an 7-8th place team
