In a world where the blues are willing to move Kyrou, whats the plus on that?

Same age, lower caphit, pretty solidly a 70 point player who has shown glimpses of more. I think the plus would be pretty big, but just curious what that would be
Honestly, I would need thomas in a deal for Petey

Can be read different ways. For example, it could be Allvin making it public his expectations of Pettersson once JT is traded.

Fair enough, but how often do 100 Point Power forward Centers become available on the Market?

Especially ones coming off such a great playoffs, he carried the canucks
Miller is one hell of a player
Guys, I don't argue that he is a very good player, but our young locker room doesn't need a guy who clashes with his teammates. Moreover, I read from your fans that he is not suitable for such a young team as Buffalo, he needs a locker room with vets. I don't even mention his NMC and that he definitely won't go to Buffalo.

(robert thomas a nonstarter)
come on now

good luck to whoever gets him. he just seems uninspired. the patrick marleau of his generation.

??

Other teams dont automatically make their best player available just because there are issues with another teams locker room

I didn’t suggest a 1 for 1 or anything close to that, what exactly are you expecting to be receiving?
Sorry if that came off rude, but what I’m trying to say is the Canucks have no interest trading Pettersson for Kyrou as the base.

It would leave a huge hole in the team. We can criticize Petterson’s contract all want but the fact remains he’s a 200ft reliable center who plays at a .9PPG pace during his slumps

I think “Shit talked” makes it sound worse than it was. He’s clearly sending a message, I don’t really see anything wrong with it.

The comments shouldn’t affect any prospective trade return either way.

There are no revelations here — It’s certainly no secret around the league that EP has not put in the work needed with regard to strength training, and that’s adversely impacted his performance.

Likewise, not a secret that EP left a lot to be desired when it came to “facing the music” in his media availabilities last year during the playoffs

Don’t think these remarks indicate some irreparable fracture between player and team. I do think that EP is now on notice though, and if the FO doesn’t see meaningful improvement he’ll be gone before the NTC kicks in.

Yeah that’s why I get the vibe it’s more like a gentle kick in the ass telling Petey to get his shit together.

If he thought a trade was imminent, I imagine he’d limit his commentary to effusive praise for the player but with the added caveat that the FO is always looking for ways to make the team better.
Nailed it

What if VAN asked for Wyatt Johnston, 1st and Bischel? Prob a “no” I’m assuming. Just trying to think who’d VAN want back…def need a C.
sorry to pick your post. but i have seen the name written wrongly more often than correct.

it's bichsel.

To :hawks
C Elias Pettersson (7 x $11.6M)

To :nucks
D Seth Jones (5 x $9.5M)
Hawks 2026 1st round pick (Top 3 protection)

Nucks get that long wanted top RD and someone who can move puck from blueline + A 1st that would still have chance to be high next year even with protection in place

Hawks get a major piece who is younger (26 yrs old vs Jones 30) that would fit in better with hopeful turnaround with youth coming in pipeline in coming years

Hawks take biggest risk here given length and $ on EP contract thus why I threw in top 3 protection on pick

Both players have NMC

Jones has NMC but given chance he may be open to move given how things turned out after coming to Chicago (Bowman gone months after acquiring him/extending him, new GM blowing it up for full rebuild, etc) and likely hood they are still a couple years away from being playoff contender

Pettersson whatever is going on in Vancouver I assume would be open to waiving his NMC at this point

You’re seriously pitching this?!

So let's recap the last sequence of events from Pettersson & the Canucks.

-Pettersson finally breaks out with a multi-goal game, including 1 absolute snipe
-Gets injured or (tweaked his old injury), leaves in 3rd & misses the next game
-Canucks go on to lose via blowing a 4-1 lead with 5 minutes left in the 3rd for one of the biggest chokes ever in the 1st game without Pettersson

So what does the GM do? Give an interview shitting all over Pettersson. Are they trying to make things worse? Imply they would trade him and then crap all over him and lower his value, maybe hurt his confidence after the first boost of confidence he has had in a long time after the 2 goal game. I seriously do not understand this team's obsession with self-sabotaging itself. I hope they trade him so I can officially quit giving a f*** about this franchise.

I just got ^this^ confused.

Byram+ Cozens. You get a long-term C to immediately replace him at a smaller cap hit. You can also take Kulich and a 1st in place of one of the two.

The 2 goal game isn’t indicative of his season. His season has been inconsistent offensively and the GM didn’t just shit on him. He shit on Boeser, Miller and basically everyone not named Hughes.

EP continues to be an absolute beast defensively, his 2 way game is still top 5 in the league. But he just hasn’t been as dynamic offensively as he was 2 years ago.

I have no doubt that it’s part health, part systems. He said in the preseason his knee still bothered him. But he never took any time off. The coach also plays incredibly boring system which stifles creativity like a fart in a library. No one other than Hughes has created much.

I love that the GM did this. The team has been trash. Unfortunately they’ve been trash because the GM decided to spend 6.5 million on Myers, Forbort and Deharnais. Barf.

EP still has enormous value. Cap is going up. Ppg even though he’s been hurt. 1C guys rarely get dealt.

Carolina has had interest before and have the assets to make a move. Anyone thinking it’s KK and a 2nd probably also buys lotto tickets and thinks they’re going to win every time.

Wake up, the offer would be huge.

Neces, 1st and a grade A prospect would be a start.
