Yeah wtf. Even if you want to trade him you don’t tell the world that
Yeah that’s why I get the vibe it’s more like a gentle kick in the ass telling Petey to get his shit together.

If he thought a trade was imminent, I imagine he’d limit his commentary to effusive praise for the player but with the added caveat that the FO is always looking for ways to make the team better.

Their original offer was Necas, Kotkaniemi, significant prospect rumored to be Scott Morrow or Felix Unger Sorum, and a 1st, and it almost worked. If the Canes are bold, they'll offer it again even with Necas's amazing start to the year.
Wow, you’d still offer that? I’d think Canes would say absolutely not w how well Necas is playing.

Maybe. It's tough to judge, because Necas is playing himself into being a long-term piece, but we are also incredibly deep on an organization level at right wing. It's possible that the Canes capitalize on that incredible depth to officially get a 1A/1B center tandem a la Crosby/Malkin, though somewhat less potent historically-speaking.

I think that's still probably close to what happens and reasonable considering contracts, but I imagine Vancouver would also be adding Hoglander, and a prospect, and the first is more like a second ish.

No matter what fans think, in reality GMs are goin to pay up big for a young signed 1C with proven 100pt, 200ft ability.

Petterson for Fox+?
Idk why NYR does this but that's an absolute grand slam for van, and I'd drive ep all the way to any airport immediately.

I'd think van prob takes Chytil money back and also adds some players/prospects.

Ah, yeah now I get it. Forgot how deep you guys are at wing…makes sense looking at it that way.

Petterson for Fox+?
No way can the Rangers afford to move Fox regardless of his play this year. Not to mention that Fox will not accept a trade in all likelihood, not a Rangers fan so I don't remember if he has a NMC but he's not interested in playing anywhere else.

They shouldn't be adding anyways, they should be subtracting. But they won't.

When GMs come out and say crap like that they hurt there return. It makes it sound like 1) Pete has a bad attitude. 2) vancouver now needs to move him because they've sh@t talked him.
I think “Shit talked” makes it sound worse than it was. He’s clearly sending a message, I don’t really see anything wrong with it.

The comments shouldn’t affect any prospective trade return either way.

There are no revelations here — It’s certainly no secret around the league that EP has not put in the work needed with regard to strength training, and that’s adversely impacted his performance.

Likewise, not a secret that EP left a lot to be desired when it came to “facing the music” in his media availabilities last year during the playoffs

Don’t think these remarks indicate some irreparable fracture between player and team. I do think that EP is now on notice though, and if the FO doesn’t see meaningful improvement he’ll be gone before the NTC kicks in.

Would vancouver even want a trade that has Necas coming back as the big piece? He’s 1.5 years away from being a UFA, and it’s not like vancouver has the easiest time with selling their market to players.
