No, I generally subscribe to the belief that players will take money - especially if they have a smart agent. 80-90MM + a NMC to choose your destination is pretty hard to say no to.

But, unlike with Miller, I don’t think the league has as much apprehension. I think Pettersson will be pretty confident betting on himself relative to Miller’s career year playing his weaker position.

It’s not about betting on yourself, it’s about injury risk. Any reputable agent should at this point a binder of players who lost the bag because they “bet on themselves” and got an injury and the bag vanished.

Honestly, if they scratched one of OEL/Myers for Bear it might be a defence core you can work with. Not sure about building on, but IMO it would minimize some of the outright disasters.
