What difference to Pettersson would having Kuzmenko be if the team is bottom 10 in the league each year?
I mean that’s why I put the odds below 50%. It’s an unserious organization.

But if he wants to stay, having a player who can keep up with him and is a great dude probably will have an impact.

Who cares. It won’t be from us. He’s a UFA. This is the most laughable franchise in ALL of sports , not just hockey. He can sign anywhere and get his money. 0% chance he stays in this dumpster fire. There’s nothing keeping him here.
I really hope he takes his talents to north beach, aka Edmonton, and hit 100+ pts easily finally giving McDavid a winger he deserves.

Even sign there short term, until Draisaitl is ufa, cap will go up and kuz could probably get 9M/yr.

Kuz agent just trolling. He makes 3% of whatever Kuz gets from whoever next year. Every goal he scores Middlestat is making bank.

I think the 40% chance that Pettersson re-signs drops to 20% if Kuzmenko isn’t on the roster next season.

Also, you would effectively have to give Kuzmenko some reign to choose his destination at the TDL to not hurt your future FA signing chances.

Opportunity cost for me is to play it out. Sign him if he’s willing, and then if Pettersson is demanding out, you deal him then.
Odds of Petey resigning goes up as the $$$ goes up. He can always take the bag and request the trade. I assume it’s harder than you think to say no to 88M

No, I generally subscribe to the belief that players will take money - especially if they have a smart agent. 80-90MM + a NMC to choose your destination is pretty hard to say no to.

But, unlike with Miller, I don’t think the league has as much apprehension. I think Pettersson will be pretty confident betting on himself relative to Miller’s career year playing his weaker position.

Boeser definitely skating harder this game. Not the fleetest of foot still but not as bad as that one year where he was skating in cement. But where was this effort all year?
