Maybe a bit. But seriously, we have the 6th highest paid goalie in the NHL and yet some, defend him on every goal scored against. As I said in the previous thread, Cam isn't the problem with this team, but let's not act like he isn't without blame also.

Honestly I didn't think there was a need to disect that one. Seemed pretty cut and dry to me.

There wasn't really a need to dissect the one the other day either. Ward's going to give up goals he probably should have had, especially now that he's on the downside of his career.

However, there's not much to do but grin and bear it, since he's still our best option until Lack decides to start earning that contract extension.

Did I bring up salary? Not at all. But we extended Lack before he played a game for us, under the assumption that he would be able to take the starter's job from Ward.

His poor start to the season put him behind the eight ball, and (apparently) he hasn't done well enough in practice to change Peters' mind about who the starter on this team is.

if we lose this game it's 100% cam ward's fault. when you only allow 7 shots through two periods, your goalie can't allow a soft goal, even if he was partially screened by a midget defenseman. at some point the $6.3m goalie has to start winning those 2-1 games.

Is it that Ward, with is, what 30th best SV % in the league is beyond criticism? Honestly, I am one that thinks Ward is NOT as bad as many have portrayed him to be, but am tired of defending him at all costs, even when he deserves it.

So please tell me what point you are trying to make so I can tell if I agree or disagree with you.

let me clarify: he has to start winning games in which the hurricanes only score 1 or 2 goals. starting goaltenders, especially ones that make the money that ward does, aren't there to only win games in which the team scores 3 or 4. ward apologists seem to react to every loss with a "you can't win games without scoring!!! ward can't win every game 2-1!!!" but yet ward has let in at least 2 goals in 10 out of 12 starts, with 3 or more goals in 7 starts. it seems pretty obvious to me that ward is part of the problem: he isn't stealing games and isn't winning games that he should. it's just a joke to watch this team give up 10 legit scoring chances in a game, have ward allow 3 and then watch people try to excuse his play because "the goals came off of defensive breakdowns and good shots!" as if he's not paid a billion dollars to make difficult saves.

cam ward fans make him out to be some above average starter but yet trash anyone who expect him to better than justin peters.
