Honestly, if Necas was the player we expected him to be, we'd win the President's Trophy this year and be the odds on favorite to win the East. But he's not just missing the mark, he's not even close.

What’s confusing to me is that his skating speed seems to have slowed (beyond the stick handling and turnover failures)

I will say that his one-timers have significantly improved lately.

I think a big problem with Rod's coaching style is that it demands we give playoff effort every night for 82 games. By Game 60, we were absolutely gassed, and now we look like we are skating on fumes. And with a game every other day for the remainder of the season, we have no rests remaining, and its just going to be like this until the postseason.... At which point we play back to back until we either lift the Cup or are eliminated.

There's a reason why teams don't go balls to the wall for every game every year.

Our defense has sort of lost the plot. They spend way too much time chasing the puck and can't get the puck out of our zone whether it's because they panic and make a bad pass or bad puck support.
