Did you see the explanation that The Athletic gave for TDA's dismissal from NYR yesterday? Apparently after a game in which Georgiev gave up 4 goals (his 4th or so such game in about 2 weeks) Tony basically said 'hey, how bout you make a f***ing save' to him, which prompted AG to punch him, which eventually got Tony dismissed. And this story was confirmed by multiple players to be true.

What got my attention from the article was more the blow up with Drury and Quinn. All in the past though as everyone here seems to love him and goes out of their way to compliment his presence. I think he’s found one of the few places he can thrive with the leadership core and Rod. Though we probably can’t see Franky from Philly in the background munchin on some gabagool ready to crack some knees. Also Tony’s accent rules

Thinking more about the potential matchups, there's storylines aplenty for the canes no matter who they end up with.

Caps: revenge for 2019, Brind'Amour vs Laviolette
Bruins: 20 and 21 playoffs and of course the little brother whalers thing
Lightning: last team to eliminate the canes plus the defending champs
Pens: team Staal won the cup with and beat the canes to do so
Leafs: does Andersen get revenge or vice versa
Rangers: deangelo, got booted by canes in the bubble

Only team we almost certainly won't see is Florida in the first round but there's not much narrative to be spun with them anyway

As long as TDA has grown and learned and fits in well here, that's what's most important for us. And I hope it stays that way and we have a great, mutually beneficial relationship for a long time. But it doesn't mean that the many issues of his past weren't really issues. I was skeptical (far beyond the politics) but I'm happy with how it's all gone to this point.

Well other than last year I got a 30 day ban from their page for liking posts. I would say thats pretty deep rooted bad blood narrative.

Honestly not really worried about playing anyone in the East.

I used to fear Tampa but they've been beatable and I'd like to think Andersen in net will be a big difference. We embarrassed Boston all year. I think Florida's defensive shits will cost them ultimately. Caps and Pens are past their prime. And Capitals in the playoffs is like a whole joke in itself.

And Rongos -- bleh.
