I’d be shocked if Rod start Kochetkov over Raanta tomorrow.
I mean nothing would surprise me, but my thought is if you start koch and it goes to hell, you pull him and steady eddie raanta comes in and calms it down. If you start raanta and it goes to to hell, you put in big question mark kochetkov and there's blood in the water. I don't really think there's a wrong answer but it will definitely be interesting

Well the time is finally here for the edge of your seats hockey. The Bruins will put us all on the edge of our seats as will every team the Canes are able to face. Throw out your memories of the regular season. The Bruins have a long and storied playoff history. Just remember its one game at a time and hope you get to 4 before the other team does. Everything considered I like the Canes chances but if things get dicey Rod is going to have to make the in game or in series changes he has been reluctant to make in the past.

I have been lurking F26 actively since Aho draft. Today I had a sign to finally sign up. This is my mental home in the internet. I'm here for BBQ tips, Lempos wits and VENGEANCE.

Enjoy the playoffs!
Yes, Yes, lean into the madness.

Also, this is random but I saw the posted pics of our Rally Towels this year and it made me think of @Negan4Coach and his epic rant last year. Anyways, hope you're doing well--besides the towels, that is.

Before last year, I would have definitely thought he'd start the veteran, Raanta--but he surprised me with the opportunities he gave Ned. So, I'm really curious what decision Rod will make.

Prediction... Tony Deangelo will fight someone this series....
Post automatically merged:

He was thrown to the Wolves of Chicago and went 13-1-1. Does that count?
Kochetkov has two things a competitive "edge" and pure talent.... He's not a sheep, playing him is Throwing the bear into the surge.

Three things needed, actually 4 but I'll start here

1. Balanced scoring. If Stepan, Lorentz, Martinook and the D-men score then great, but we also need Aho/TT/Svech/Necas/Staal to be the main guys scoring.

2. Please for the love of God, cut down on the penalties, yeah the PK was awesome but now is the time to cut down on that shit, please.

3. Goaltending. Whoever we start in net we start in net but we need that brick wall thing going that got us the Jennings.

4. Out-physical them, we're overall the younger team. Don't let them control things, control them instead. Pressure, don't feel it but rather apply it.

Thanks in advance

I think at this point given his role on the PP and the first line that you can include Jarvis in that.... He's become our "go-to" goal scorer at this point.... Even when he doest score he lays sick stick work/puckhandling and its not just of scrubs but the guys like Shesterkin and Vasilevskiy.... I could watch that goal on Vassy over and over talk about pretty.

There's always someone I'm forgetting, thanks. Yeah Jarvis is about to get a taste of playoff Hockey and I'm excited to see how he handles the occasion

Jarvis seems to rise to the occasion, I predicted he would force our hand and make the roster he not only did so he also made the first line and PP unit.... Even at his size he doest shy away from physicality.... a 40 point season in 60 games while averaging 3/4th line minutes. I think he will score a few clutch goals for us this season.
Off the top of my head I know five of his 17 came agaist Shesterkin Serokin and Vasilevskiy.

We all wish we could have our number 1 goaltender for the series, but it seemed like (eye test vs actual stats) that we tightened up a bit defensively, played a bit grittier in front of both back ups, and forwards did better back checking. Almost like they knew they needed to. I think this team understands they will have to be near perfect defensively. Hopefully in doing that, we won’t tax ourselves too much offensively.

It doest sound as if Anderson will miss the entire series... I imagine he will be back by game 3/4 our defense and puck control offense can make even average goalies look good.

The goaltending is certainly an open question for both teams. I would say our wildcard player this series is Vincent Trocheck. The dude is a great agitator, and I think he's even more of one than Nino Niederreiter. Vinnie is going to be super motivated this series, but so will Marchand against him. It will be critical that he plays smart and doesn't retaliate to the cheap stuff that will come against him. We can't take too many penalties.

We match up well with the Bruins, and both teams are pretty even. We both have some good goalies with question marks, and not a clear starter for game 1. Both teams play excellent team defense and are stingy with allowing scoring chances. These are two of the top 5 defensive teams in the league.

I think we have a couple of advantages here over the Bruins.

1) Depth scoring. Our team goes deeper with scorers. Our bottom 6, and honestly our bottom 9, match up really well with Boston. Haula is a decent player, but he is not David Krejci. We need to get in Haula's head; he's been pretty ineffective so far this year against us. I don't see Aho going total ham on this team which is great at preventing goals, but I think we have the horses to score 3-4 goals on em from all lines.

2) 3rd periods. We are a younger team and a better conditioned team. We have buried opponents in the 3rd this year. I think they're going to play their top line 20+ minutes a game, and McAvoy might see 27 minutes on average. I think we can take advantage in third periods. We have to keep our forecheck going, and I think we will because we have all year.

Lastly, the Bruins will be a good opponent, but I am really, really glad we aren't playing Tampa in the first.
