While I agree the Slavin/Murphy pairing is bad, that decision by Slavin was bad no matter who his partner was because it would have resulted in a 2 on 1 regardless. He doesn't make many bad decisions, but that was one of them.

Don't think anyone said it wasn't a bad decision by Slavin. Doesn't mean a competent dman wouldn't have a chance at making a play. That's not Murphy.

Oh, I agree. I don't like this pairing. I'm just saying that that play by Slavin is atypical of him and even if Pesce was back, I don't think it would have changed the outcome. Bad move on Slavin's part.

Fair enough. Probably would have been the same either way, just a slightly better chance Pesce would play it better.

I would hope Pesce would have played it better...Murphy hung Lack out to dry by not staying with the passee and letting the pass through, forcing Lack to go from one to the other.

Seems like it's up to him to show he can play the way he has from center consistently.

Exactly. He's played a couple of periods where he's looked decent, but he's played 30 games where he's looked very good at RW. A PP goal tonight has no bearing on him playing C.

I have no problem with him staying at RW either, but he's "graduated" at this point IMO. Maybe I'm giving him more benefit of the doubt than others, it just feels like he's arrived. I know this team sure seems stronger up the middle than it did when TT was playing C. Either way, it's not a bad "problem" to have.

Lost my stream, so going to be living vicariously through you guys. I'll still give my opinion about what players screwed up though. ;)
