This was a good win. Regulation road shutout victory against Islanders, a team we're battling for positioning and a team that beat the Devils last night.

I hope to see more of this kind of result. The team would be damn near unstoppable if they can duplicate tonight.

Seems like Burns is starting to settle in better on the ice. He at times looked lost early on. Probably not easy even at 37 to learn a new system when you spent 12 years elsewhere, but he's looking better.

God, this team is going to miss Staal SO much when he leaves/retires. None of them made air, but I made 3 or 4 packages of that line just forechecking and keeping the puck in the offensive zone for what seemed like their entire shift. And, of course, they got a goal as well.

Also had a nice clip of KK breaking up the 2-on-1 with a backcheck (20 mph), and he scored as well.

The Canes have now played 2/3rds of the season on the road without MaxPac the entire time, missing Anderson for a sizeable chunk, special teams have been worse than last year….and they’re 6th in the league in points percentage.

They might not suck.
