The Michkov vs not Michkov debate sucks because anyone talking about alternative options to Michkov are doing so on the premise they won't take him, and the Michkov at any cost group can't have a discussion, they diminish every hypothetical as to why a team might pass and just say take Michkov.

This is such a convenient and enviable stance for you to take. It's a have your cake and eat it too proposition. You're saying if they draft Michkov you'll be as ecstatic as the rest of us, but if they don't it will prove your assertations were right all along.

I assure you, the habs are not going into this process with the mindset of your DND Michkov approach. And if they are, it would be extremely incompetent of them to do so. Realizing the huge talent gap between him and the others who may be directly behind him on the draft board.

And it's also not true, that all those who are "suggesting" alternative options are doing so under this premise. There are others who have emphatically expressed they'd prefer another over Michkov if given their choice regardless.

My question to you is, without the crutch of your DND scenario.

Who would you take at 5? Because that's all the pro Michkov camp is doing.

Understanding the risk, not avoiding it altogether, speaking from the actual position the habs find themselves in. Not this made up scenario you're arguing from.

You cannot say with any clarity the habs feel this way.

I don’t like Leonard’s shot and passing. He isn’t that tall either. I think the Hughes comment is smoke and mirrors.

Yeah I know, Leonard scored goals but I don’t see it translating because there is nothing special about it.

He wasn’t the driver on his line. His passing isn’t great, his shot is nothing special, etc.

You can’t compare him to guys like Eichel, Keller, Caufield, Hughes, Matthews, Zegras, Smith, etc. Because they drive the offence much more.
