Hopefully not.

I don't want to see a video clip of Habs fans clamoring for Michkov, followed by the team selecting Reinbarcher, and then the Flyers picking Michkov a couple of spots later.

Imagine how hyped the fan base of whichever team he drops to would be because we passed on him.

Just one more reason to pick him.

I'm as fanboy of Michkov's as they come but I can see why Habs wouldn't want to draft him, especially that they're reportedly putting so much weight on a players personality.

As with Wright last year and his leering at the Habs table when he got drasfted, I could see why they passed on him and I can see the same with Michkov now.
I think that the Habs’ emphasis on personality is real. I was thinking of this link, when I read your message:

We’ll know more in the coming days if there is anything to really be concerned about with Michkov.

Stanley cup against Habs showed us that Kucherov is not "the kind of guy" Hughes seems to be looking for, but he still have two cups... Head on shoulders is not replacing on ice talent.

No one is suggesting that personality is a substitute for talent, only that the Habs appear to place emphasis on it.

There’s huge Russian populations in NYC and Miami, which is why Russian players gravitate to those locations - and both Panarin & Bobrovsky were very clear about it during their UFA pursuits

Same can’t be said about Mtl…

NY beats all cities for almost every nationalities, no shit sherlock, but in the case of Miami, the GMA proper, I doubt it's much bigger than Montreal's. Last census has Montreal with around 50k Russians proper and above 200k from the soviet block.

Yeah sure a few russian billionaires bought properties in Sunny Isles, which they now nickname Little Moscow, but Sunny Isles has around 20k and not all of them are Russian, far from it. Last census I can find (2015) had the Russian population of of the Greater Miami Area at less than 0.5% (30k), so even if it doubled, it's still pretty close to Montreal's.

That’s exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote that post.

Here is an quote from The most recent Athletic Q&A with Pronmann: Whatcha think?

Few undersized players make the NHL and the first round has a bunch of them. Which players are less at risk of sliding due to their unbelievable talent and IQ? — Ryan F.

I’ve heard a lot of NHL executives noting how small the projected top two rounds are and how they think a lot of public lists are way too full of small forwards. I think draft day is going to look a lot more like the league than a bunch of 5-foot-10 guys going top 40.

This narrative needs to die. He had a donkey brain from the start.

It's not a narrative, it's reality. We tried to develop him as centre on the wing, we preferred playing the great Desharnais, in front of him.

I'll never forget how MT favoured his son Desharnais over Eller and Galchenyuk... Ni oubli, ni pardon.

and KK crapped the bed too

We "traded" him too soon, besides playing him in the NHL too early, it was nothing like Galchenyuk.
