Sure he does. There was scuttlebutt last year that the Flyers wouldn't draft any of the top end Russians (Yurov, Miro). If they have no plans to take Michkov, why not throw something out that he'll likely be gone in the top 4? This is what GMs do at this time of year. Lots of sandbagging and poker faces. They have a new management in place, looks like they will draft Russians again, at #7 Michkov is too good to pass on. He has no reason to say, that Michkov won't be available when he will pick. I don't see what he has to gain by saying that...

The last talented forward we had, ( pre Suzuki ) who actually was a PPG player...........talent up the wazoo...........took over a private box in the Bell Centre so sick kids could go to games.

The only point is if San jose calls you and tells you hey I got an offer for the pick and it looks like they are interested in Player X.

Basically you trade up to prevent somebody coming in and taking the player you want.

I just think it's not a coincidence that info comes out saying the habs want to move up after Grier says they like Smith a lot.
