We dont know for sure that Kent won't take Michkov, until the pick

I am confident habs get Smith. In fact I would totally shocked if Michkov drops to 5.

I'm speaking hypothetically as we don't know for sure they will and the smoke seems to reinforce they'd pass more than they would take him

Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
Dubois-Dach-5th overall

Guhle-Mailloux
Matheson-Barron
Hutson-Xhekaj
Struble. Harris, Kovacevic, Engstrom

But if Reinbacher is BPA, I say take him!
Not a fan of Barron in the top 4 or Jackeye on the right. I see Hutson replacing Matheson when the latter's contract is up, if all goes well. I also see Roy being a top 6 talent, so we dont need to pick a forward with this pick.

I just did my first draft simulation. I will admit I don't know much about a few of the picks I made. I took those players after a real quick search, but nothing detailed. And this is what I ended up with:

5th: Leo Carlsson (C) from Orebro in SHL
31st: Ethan Gauthier (RW) from Sherbrooke Phoenix
37th: Oliver Bonk (RD) from London Knights
69th: Jacob Fowler (G) from Youngstown (USHL) will play at Boston College next year
101st: Tanner Ludtke (C) from Lincoln (USHL) will play at University of Nebraska-Omaha next year
110th: Jesse Nurmi (LW) from KooKoo U20 in Finland
128th: Jaden Lipinski (C) from Vancouver Giants
133rd: Austin Roest (C) from Everett Silvertips
144th: Andrei Loshko (C) from Chicoutimi Saguenéens
165th: Ty Higgins (RD) from Acadie-Bathurst Titan
197th: Justin Gill (C) from Sherbrooke Phoenix

not too sure about that SJS can easily pick Smith and we pass on Michkov for Reinbacher or Dvorsky
Habs won't pass over Michkov if he falls at #5. BUT they could use this asset (that they might not be intrested with) to make a deal. Example: to Philly for Carter Hart and #7 pick which could turn into a Leonard OR Reinbacher.

All his interviews and everything we have seen that are directly from Michkov suggest he wants to work hard, develop well and come to the NHL.

Everyone is saying if there wasn’t this Russia thing, he would be clear #2 and might even fight for #1.

When you go to the corner store and see something you like and need, that is magically on sale… do you buy it or run away?

I think SJ picks Michkov, but if they don’t… it’s completely insane to pass him at 5.

Nothing come close. He is better, he works hard, he wants to come, he is exited and he is on sale. You take him and don’t look back.

I sincerely doubt youll get the big swede at 5

We could have a good debate about whether there's a bigger future projected need for a top 4D or a top 6 forward.

But I hope we draft the BPA at #5 regardless of future projected need.

If Reinbacher is the BPA, I say take him!

Reinbacher won’t be BPA at 5. He will around 10 though.
