This guy isn’t afraid to go in his own direction. Dvorsky at 21, Reinbacher at 23, Sale at 28, Barlow at 31 and Yeager at 32. :amazed:

Yeah I had hopes Simashev falls all the way to our 2nd pick in the 1st round. He's a real swing for a home run pick for a dman. Seeing how this guy has him at 10 disappoints me as he'll unlikely be available. :(

I can just imagine the responses around here and via the media if the habs actually grabbed two russians in the 1st round. I'd personally be stoked with both Michkov and Simashev even if he's another LHD.

Smith confirmed he had some discussions with the habs already.

Sounds like he would be pretty happy to end up here.

It's funny that Smith talks about Hughes trying to teach him the 2-way game and that it's extremely important but he still sucks at it.

It’s better than some people give him credit for.

I think the USNTDP coach them in a way for them to develop their offensive skills first. He’s a smart enough player, i’m not worried he’ll round up his game in the next few years! :thumbu:

Honestly, if we aren't going to draft Smith/Michkov I want us to package the pick for Keller. I'm sure Yotes would love to get Dvorsky/Leaonard+Reinbacher. At that point you might as well also pony up the assets for PLD.

PLD-Suzuki-CC
Slaf-Dach-Keller

is a top 6 that can do some serious damage and are all young. Depth looks strong too with Anderson, Heineman, Mesar, Dvorak, Beck, Ylonen, Roy, and Farell although some would be included in the trades.

You might be right but I still think the main tendencies in a player are tough to change.

I don't think he will ever be a solid 200-foot center. I'm not even sure he'll be a center tbh.

Oh, of course he’s never gonna be Bergeron but that’s ok, he is not drafted that high for that.

He might start on the wing, wouldn’t be the only younger player to but i think his type of game fits the middle, as a solid playmaker and finisher that’s kind of the best spot. Jack Hughes isn’t the best 200 ft. player but they still play him at center.

For the habs, i wouldn’t mind if he does not end up at center, we just need some high caliber/elite offensive production.

The devils will win f***all with Hughes as their #1 center!

I have a question can the players in USNTDP only wear jersey numbers from 1-30? If so what are the chances Smith plays with (2) Perrault with (4) Leonard (9) in the NHL?

I really like those numbers

Just being different for the sake of being different lol. Sawchyn over Danielson, Yager and Barlow is laughable. Especially Danielson who is literally better in every aspect by a country mile.
Sawchyn is a wonderful stickhandler. Better than Danielson. Literally.

Really hoping we get a chance at and take Michkov......We are going to be a bottom 10 team again and we can add a another first pick with Edmonson.....then sign PLD as a UFA.....and we just might be off to the races in 3 years.......I can wait!!!!
dont think we finish bottom 10 next year unless we go though massive injuries again and Edmundson is not worth a 1st even at 50% maybe a 2nd

I am also not worried about the size factor.

It does appear that our management team is concerned about it, though.

If Marchessault wins the Conn Smyth, or even is in the conversation with Jack Eichel, I bet that influences management around the league, including ours.

It probably means Michkov is off the board before 5, but may increase the amount Benson is back in the discussion. Though with all the recent signings, I wonder if HuGo have already formed their opinions on the players for the 2023 draft class.
