Too rich for me. Cole and a lesser piece.
Otherwise if Cole and the 5th, then get another piece from the Ducks.
wonder what it would take, Cole + ... I'm guessing Guhle

think that the Draft flavor on this board was to pick best player available ? it doesn't fit with the "this year is forwards, next is dmen, no ?
He's not the beat player available at 5 though. He is way overvalued because there are few dmen in the 1st round this year.
The Athletic posted their new mock draft this afternoon, which was done by Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler.
1. Chicago - Bedard
2. Anaheim - Fantilli
3. Columbus - Smith
4. San Jose - Carlsson
5. Montreal - Leonard
6. Arizona - Reinbacher
7. Philadelphia - Dvorsky
8. Washington - Michkov
9. Detroit - Benson
10. Blues - Willander
29. Montreal - Cristall
37. Montreal - Hrabal
Very possible. Columbus get their All- American Center. San Jose get their number 1 C for the next 15 years. We get a very solid player. Doesnt have Smith’s vision or offensive IQ but has superior fundamentals. Top-6 forward in a couple of years. The Athletic posted their new mock draft this afternoon, which was done by Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler.

It wasn't because of him though, it was in-spite of him. He was a hater and he hated anyone that was competing with his pet DD. He did the same thing to Eller.Yet Crosby, Letang, Malkin had no issues “developing” and performing under the same idiot coach?
If the Habs pass on Michkov for Leonard, they and the fans will regret it for a long time. The Athletic posted their new mock draft this afternoon, which was done by Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler.

Zero faith in them. It’ll be Caps fans laughing at Habs’ fans reaction when HuGo takes Reinbacher instead of Michkov, on YouTube for the next 20 years. Just like we do for Philly and Caufield. Fair game.I don't care about their evaluation of Michkov, if they think their is a risk, pass on him and Michkov turn into a better player than the one we picked, it will be a huge mistake.
They better make the right choice, it's their job.
How many viewings have you had of the top 10?
There's no way they're trading Cooley for Michkov especially when they draft one spot after the Habs. Most teams would rather have Cooley than Smith and Smith may go before Michkov. If the Habs don’t want Michkov and he drops to 5, maybe trade the pick to the Yotes for Cooley. I’d rather Cooley then Reinbacher. Cooley would probably turn pro if traded to the Habs.
Just a thought. Trying to find alternatives to Reinbacher. Maybe trade both 1st picks with Harris and get Cooley and Keller. If Dvorak doesn’t have negative value, I’d trow him in the trade as well.
Smith is better than Cooley. There's no way they're trading Cooley for Michkov especially when they draft one spot after the Habs. Most teams would rather have Cooley than Smith and Smith may go before Michkov.
Gate revenue really doesn't matter to the Yotes. They get their welfare handouts from other NHL teams. It's a sad story that seems like will never end because of Bettman's stubbornness.Btw I don’t believe for a second Coyotes take Reinbacher in real life. Is this their plan to revitalize hockey in Arizona? Sit fans in a beer league arena watching their pick waltzing them to sleep with his smooth but conservative strides? Litterally anywhere before Arizona.
Not sure how you say that with so much absolute conviction. I personally prefer Cooley as do many in hockey. Smith has terrific offensive talent but has a lot of holes in his game. Cooley played a key role for Team USA in the WJC in his draft year while Smith didn't make Team USA in his draft year.Smith is better than Cooley.
I won’t lose my shit because let’s face it WTF do I know, but it would be so Habs to pick the « grinder » of the Smith Leonard Perreault line. He’s not « just » a grinder don’t get me wrong but he’s the one that assumes more of that role on the line.If the Habs pass on Michkov for Leonard, they and the fans will regret it for a long time.
I’m assuming San Jose will be getting the same red flags Hughes hears about re Michkov. Are they really going to take a flyer on Michkov when they can get Smith? I doubt it.Well, Columbus isn't taking Smith. They will take Carlsson leaving San Jose with Michkov or Smith.

They're both great prospects. Time will tell where they are in 5 years.

Management will get that hot potato on their lap and that’s when the fun begins.
My personal views are meaningless, I'm not a scout. This is the viewpoint of pretty much every single scout and reporter that does this for a living.
Where did Moore get picked ? Wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked higher than people anticipate. The Athletic posted their new mock draft this afternoon, which was done by Corey Pronman and Scott Wheeler.

We'll see. Neither is a slam dunk over the other. I love Cooley's combination of skill and jam.Smith was sick, he didn’t get cut.
Smith is smarter, better hands, can see the game better, knows when to slow the game up, better vision. Cooley has the motor and defensive game as of now but Smith will also round up his game in college.

That is 100% correct. Regional scouts spend most of the draft cycle feeding data into the system and teams don't even talk about rankings as a group until the Combine. The real scouts are employed by NHL teams and they haven't finished their list yet. We'll have a better idea come June when Bob publishes his final rankings.
Absolutely not. Caufield is untouchable.would you guys do Cole and #5 to Anaheim for #2? Cole and his buddy are reuninted, and we can't seem to handle contracts anyways.
Its Tuesday, come at me.
