Not sure why he wasn't let go this offseason. We saw last year he was the 7th D and that was before burningbin picked up 7 more LD in the offseason.

He got the top C role because Galchenyuk was awful and we had no one else to play there.

He didn't have a problem with playing young defensemen in Boston. If Therrien waa still here I would have my doubts but if Mete shows that he benefits by being in the NHL then he'll stay. Julien gave him time with Weber so clearly he trusts him.
