He is better than Alzner, Benn and Després. Habs need help on D
I think Juulsen and Mete have the potential of playing important roles this year. I wouldn't seek help on D (via trade) until we've assessed how these 2 players have progressed.

If they end up being real solid, we have Weber coming back, and next thing you know maybe our D is solid. Especially if Juulsen pans out.

In the event our D sucks again, the team will finish at the bottom and then get to draft a good prospect again. This is what what we were expecting prior to camp anyway.

Hopefully one or two of the Czech’s can make the jump and help

Well lots of regulars out + guys having a roster spot to win aren't super talented.

I'm not talking about talent. I said the game is listless. Its lacking energy, something Gallagher is never short of preseason or reg season.

We have too many D in Laval as it is. He might be released outright, although it is interesting they kept him so long.

This has been discussed before but apparently Despres was technically already signed to a contract when we got him to a PTO. It was a one-way/two-way dispute so we let him show he's worth a one-way contract. Obviously he's not, so he'll likely be playing in Laval for AHL salary.

I wished they played Kotkaniemi tonight, it's a boring game to watch without him on the ice, although it's going to be nice to see him regular season maybe 9 games

I think he played like 4 games in a row. That being said, its typical to dress your nhl roster at this stage of camp, but the habs are clearly not doing that especially on D.

I watched most of this period and Scherbak looked fine to me.

Still haven't seen what everyone's complaining about.
He's been good this game, but in most other games Scherbak has been making bad decisions with the puck, especially in the D zone.

I like this prospect a lot, but he needs grab the bull by the horns and take control of his fate. His camp last year was terribad, but then he rips up the AHL and scores a bunch of highlight reel goals upon getting called up.

He cuts to the net sometimes like a true power forward, other times he tries to deke out 3 players while trying to exit the D zone while his linemates are changing...

3 games is how many he played I believe. But yea would still be nice to see him in a boring game
