I think it's to replace Dvorak, who missed the start of the second period. So my guess is he'll be out tomorrow. And if that's the case, imagine seeing the future of Habs center line tomorrow with Suzuki, Dach & Beck.

I don't think they'd call a forward up because a defenseman is out. They'll play Wideman. Plus, if it's to replace a D, they have 3 D in Laval on NHL deals they could call up: Schueneman, Norlinder & Trudeau.

No, it's MUCH more to do with Dvorak getting hurt , and Kirby is a little banged up as well
They called up a Center for a specific reason
On D we're more than fine, Xhekaj completely replaced Edmundson last night as we had 7 D dressed, and 1 D kovasevic in the press box who will be checking back in (sadly Wideman stays, BUT helps the tank too)

But what is the hell is happening to all the C this year? Today Suzuki, Dvorak and Dach all skipped practice, Dach has been skipped them for a little while now. Evans and Monahand were already injured. Drouin was playing center and got injured again. Suzuki has been looking like crap for a while too...

The Habs really need their little yearly vacation (the bye-week).

Sergachev. They called him up in April 2017 from Windsor. He played the last four games of the season that year I believe.

He won't be gone for long. They got him for the playoff run so couple of missed regular season games won't matter. He may even come back stronger and with more confidence after a couple of NHL games.

I think the only important metric for this short stint will be his FO%.

If he crushes over 50% in both games... then lock him in for a spot next year IMO.
