How many times have we seen a consistent 60 minute effort from this team all season? You can count them on one hand. This is the biggest indictment on Torts. I think he has run his course here. It's time for a change.

If everyone would be ****ing effective, it wouldn't be a complete joke. If Stepan and Hagelin are our best players then just ****ing sell the franchise.

That was awful. Facing a team playing three games in four nights, just unacceptable. Really disappointing. Huge missed call on Prust covering the puck with his paws.

Richards aside...A horrendous team effort. No drive, lack of playmaking from playmakers, and idiotic mistakes and passes..

Agree with it being a bad performance.

However, until the damn officials call a game correctly, the NHL will be a joke. Before I get slammed for "blaming the refs", I'm not blaming the refs for the loss, I'm blaming the refs for not properly calling icings and offsides. Even some of the icings should not have been icings.

Looked like a pre-2004 lockout sleep inducing trap fest.

Even when the Rangers actually decide to shoot the puck, they like waiting until someone can get in the way and block it. If you're going to wait that long to take the shot, can you at least make sure it doesn't get immediately blocked?

IDK if I am an advocate of benching Richards. You need Richards to be your best center. Will benching him send a message? Or will it just mess with his already shaky confidence? It's clear that he isn't bringing his "A" game or even "B" game for that matter, and I'm sure he knows it.

This happened last season too. He was the figure of a lot of criticism. Even then, I'm not sure if it's entirely warranted. He has a bloated contract. But we picked him up more for his big game potential / playoff experience, and he delivered it when it counted for us. If he pots 50 points this season, floats around, and helps us to get to the SCF, I won't care very much. We have to make the playoffs first for that to happen, so he does admittedly have to bring a lot more to the table during this abbreviated reg season.

And to some people benching Gaborik? Are you guys off your rocker? You bench your team leading goal scorer, who has 7 goals on the year, who has been our best forward two out of the last three years, a perennial 40 goal scorer, because he had a bad game? Knee jerk reaction much? Why don't we bench everyone else in the top-6 then? Because none of them brought their "A" game tonight either. Bench Gaborik... Pffftttt...

Can everyone start bombarding Brad Richards' twitter with comments about his play? Looked like a blue pile of turd out there.

I just tweeted him "maybe it's time to retire, because you're stealing money, right now. Get your head out of your a$$."

Execution, not the system, was a major problem tonight. The Richards line was actually doing a decent job of entering the zone, but the passing was horrendous once they crossed the blueline. Richards, Del Zotto and Staal were all guilty of poor decision-making tonight.

Another execution problem - the missed wide open nets and hitting posts. This game was a good example of why I don't want Boyle on the 3rd line. He has no hands and it limits his offensive ability.

Easy to make Richards the scapegoat here. Everyone minus Stepan, Hageln, Del Zotto, and Gaborik (who wasn't great either) were pretty terrible tonight.

Love that Kreider got the pine though for Richards inability to backcheck like a man.

Hard to complain after getting points in 5 straight but God damn, that was just an awful effort.

Get back soon, Rick!

Whenever Nash comes back, probably time to send Miller back to CT.

Miller played a very effective game; with whatever ice time he had. this team has played like crap since they brought Brian "I swear two lines is enough" Boyle back. This game is not his fault but the lineup is just too top heavy when he is on the 3rd line.

The whole team looked like ****.

Prust was the best player tonight..amirite?...

Oh, but that sniper that's making $7.5 million has been playing stellar, right?

$12 M this year
Minus escrow
And it is prorated
But since a big chunk is bonus money, Brad keeps most of it
How conveniant,,,
We have Richards, Redden and Drury on the pay roll this year
Nice
