Like who?The thing is, I don’t trust the Habs to develop Demidov or any of their prospects. Their players constantly haven’t lived up to the hype or potential.

They were build around Price much of that time and employed a tight defensive system. Therrein, Julien,To everyone on HF who thinks that their team has had it tough, think about this:
No team besides the Canadiens or the Ducks have not had a point per game player who played almost a full season since the 2021-22 season.
The last time the Ducks had one was in 2017-18 (Getzlaf).
The last time the Habs have had one was Alexei Kovalev, in.. 2007-08.
Thank goodness we have Demidov now..
Edit:
More fun stats (thanks @Deaner)
The last 40 goal scorer for the team was Vincent Damphousse in 1993-94.
The last 100 point player was Mats Naslund in 1985-86.
Unfortunately he cannot yet time travelI thought Hutson was the Messiah???
He won't name 1 good example , what is he gonna say , KK and Galchenyuk?Like who?
So you'll be gone when Laine is gone?Btw personally I have been a Habs fan for only 2 weeks so far. But I feel the history, due to being a Porin Ässät fan between around 1994-2016. Very similar depressive fandom it has seemingly been for Habs fans as well. Very similar colours too, its been an easy transition.
Need emoji sad faceUnfortunately he cannot yet time travel
Ye we Habs fans havent had it easy thats for sure. Our patience is finally starting to pay off!

Very likely. Lets hope that day never comes though. So you'll be gone when Laine is gone?
Lmao you sound weak af.Let me tell you. If you were a Habs fan.. and I was a Leafs fan.. and you would come to a Leafs-thread to say something like that... I would be triggered as heck! I would get so angry that I would freaking SHOUT on the top of my lungs like "you freaking asshole Imma find you and Imma put the slap on your ass!"
I remember once looking at the captaincy list and thinking "man that's a fall off". Not that the individuals are bad per se but when you see the preceding illustrious listing, the comparison just isn't there. To me, the last one to fit the somewhat illustrious genre is Guy Carbonneau. The Habs history is really strange, having been loaded with generational players for over 60 years nonstop (Morenz ‘24 to Lafleur ‘85) then having no real offensive star at any point in the past 40.
If you look at their franchise ranking, the only high ranked guys post-1980s are Saku Koivu and Tomas Plekanec, career highs 75 and 70 points respectively. It would be odd for any franchise, but especially the Habs are the last one you’d have expected to go through such a drought.
I thought this statement was wrong but is actually mostly right.Timmins was in charge of the Habs draft for 20 years, during that span, the Habs were the only team to never draft a player who scored 70pts or more in a single season. Trevor Timmins might be the least profecient person in the history of hockey, he drafted both Galchenyuk and Kotkaniemi at 3rd overral.
A lot of Leafs fans laugh reacting to this for some reasonSuzuki, Demidov, Hutson will all go ppg at some point in their careers
There is a light at the end of the tunnel
I started watching hockey in the early 80s and Montreal was the team I hated the most for whatever reason, but if I really think about it now, these days, Montreal is just blah to me....don't give them much thought....which probably means they aren't really doing very well to be noticedI remember how much I rooted against the 2010s Habs because of the DELUSIONAL tire pumping and franchise chauvinism. In recent seasons, I've softened quite a bit and started to root for them, their history, and their unique culture to make noise in league.
It took them half a season to make my hatred return.
It's kind of funny....I was just googling Timmins to see timeline of employments in Montreal and read a quick article with the executive summary including this:Timmins was in charge of the Habs draft for 20 years, during that span, the Habs were the only team to never draft a player who scored 70pts or more in a single season.
