I wouldn't bet anything on Ruff getting fired before the season ends, but I wouldn't bet my life that he doesn't get fired before the season ends either.

Ottawa fired Guy Boucher in March (which we're behind this year, so we're technically still in March after 71 games every other season ever) back in 18-19, so it's not like it never happens, but it very rarely happens.

Ruff is getting to game 82, he shouldn't, but he will.

Fitz will seriously be jeopardizing his job if he doesn't fire him a second after the season ends.

What can a coach legit say to a team when goaltending is legit costing them? They’re playing good for the majority of their skaters. Whenever we get caved, Lindy has called them out for it. You can’t call out a young team out every game because they’ll tune you out and free ball. As bad as this looks, I don’t think the team has quit on Lindy but more so their goaltending just shitting their pants constantly.
I mean shit can the goalies. How many games did Gillies get run out there when sucking? Daws got like four of the next five after sucking in Boston, Hammond shouldn’t have even gotten any more games after that steaming pile of shit over the weekend. Bring in EBUGS, college guys, play without a goalie, I don’t give a f*** but if these guys don’t want to compete they shouldn’t get NHL games.

It's gotta be rough playing in front of a goalie who has no business being on a NHL roster let alone two of them.

The goalies do a GREAT job at trying to convince the few people that don't believe goaltending is a problem here that goaltending actually IS a HUGE PROBLEM HERE!

It's right in front of our eyes at this point and so incredibly obvious with goals like the first one tonight, the one where Hammond ducked and the really bad angle goal on Daws (which I do see those goals around the league more than I ever thought I would before I started watching every single goal 4 years ago), were all really TERRIBLE GOALS.

Like, every night the goalies just keep outdoing themselves.

Outside of that Boston game, we never even lose by a WHOLE LOT when the goalies do get lit up. It's amazing.

I feel bad for him at this point (I don't at all feel bad for Recchi though, I wouldn't buy him something to eat if he told me he was gonna be broke after he gets fired from this job, f*** him) but I can't see him coming back after this.

If we were in years 1 and 2 of the rebuild, you can bring him back for a year 3, but unless you're Jeff Blashill, you just don't get a third opportunity at this, UNLESS it's years one and two of a rebuild. This is not nearly years one and two.

I feel bad for him. He's not THE problem, but I'm not convinced he's helping.

And suppose for a second we do bring him back for next year. Do you really think we're not gonna have to pull the plug on him at some point between November-January?

Before id say no way in hell do we give up our first round pick this year but I am almost at the point where I am so fed up with losing and having shit goalies , that I would trade it for one. Only if its a goalie like Hellbuyck though

I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s been all season. Everyone we put in is worse than the last guy except for a couple competent games from Daws. Ruff should go for a number of reasons but I really don’t care who the coach was this year, there was no way out of the basement with this shit.

I do feel for the kids that are having good/great years but having to play in front of this goaltending. Thankfully this horror show is starting to wind down.

Oh definitely only for an above average starter. I wouldn't trade it for some average dude, but if there is a deal to be made to get a proper starter out of a team looking to blow it up, trade the pick.

A legit starter does more for us then anyone at the top of this draft.

Two game sample size, but he's been worse than Gillies.

Gillies did NOT look THIS BAD in his first 2 starts here. Gillies has looked this bad in his last 3 starts here, but not his first two starts.

While we know Daws is guaranteed to be in on Saturday afternoon (barring injury or illness), I think we're definitely seeing Gillies as the dressed backup on the bench for that game.

I full expect Gillies to play a game before Hammond plays another.
