It doesn’t help these guys don’t get held accountable for jackshit though. The only time I’ve ever questioned a goalie’s effort was when Marty was going through the motions late in the MacLoser era, but these guys all look like they’ve given up now.

I know he won't come back with THESE goalies, but if the Stockholm Syndrome here makes him think that ''Yeah, Blackwood wasn't really all that bad'' after seeing everybody else just because he outplayed everybody else, then he can f*** off too. He needs to go out and get something better than Blackwood to be the starter.

One of the reasons the last GM isn't here anymore (his ''Mentor'') is because he had too much loyalty to Schneider and didn't either buy him out before he could get himself fired, or get a better safety net/''Insurance policy'' or whatever.

I'm pretty sure he won't come back with this staff, but if he does, the bad goaltending directly saved them. If he does though, they'll be fired mid-season next year, mark my words. And then we may see a repeat of Shero in January 2020, but I'm not sure Fitz goes mid-season, but he might be gone by April of 2023 if he goes with this staff again.

There is no way in hell we dont do something major in the offseason for goaltending. Fitz has to be on the hot seat if he lets another season go to shit because of goaltending . I know the last two seasons are not really his fault, just a series of shitty breaks , but he has to shore up the position or he is / should be done.
I cant see how ownership would not let him know he has to do something. No way they can have another shit season next year. There will no one left going to games.
I think Fitz is beyond frustrated and will go a little overboard and overpay for a goalie.
At this point , I dont give a shit if he overpays or not ( short of trading Luke , that would be insane)

What can a coach legit say to a team when goaltending is legit costing them? They’re playing good for the majority of their skaters. Whenever we get caved, Lindy has called them out for it. You can’t call out a young team out every game because they’ll tune you out and free ball. As bad as this looks, I don’t think the team has quit on Lindy but more so their goaltending just shitting their pants constantly.

I wouldn't bet anything on Ruff getting fired before the season ends, but I wouldn't bet my life that he doesn't get fired before the season ends either.

Ottawa fired Guy Boucher in March (which we're behind this year, so we're technically still in March after 71 games every other season ever) back in 18-19, so it's not like it never happens, but it very rarely happens.

and it totally changes how the team plays in front of the goaltending.. when they have no confidence in the goalie they will play slightly different.... I'm ok giving up the pick this year for a starting goalie.. not sure if that deal is out there or who is even available thats worth that pick. any free agent goalies available? and if so what do they do with bernier and blackwood contracts? this is a shitshow
