That's stupid.

Both Drouin and Galchenyuk should be in pre season at C.

Now you know why I was livid when that Drouin trade went down. He's gambling on a player that has had less success on the NHL level at centre than Galchenyuk. Man, it's not just Bergevin. It's the whole lot of them.

Let me ask you a question, Marc and company. What's plan B when you find out Drouin's defensive coverage is worse than Galchenyuk? Danualt? Maybe, we'll try de la Rose.

So what AG did prior to his injury is Worth nothing for them? AG having better production and team having better record with him at C is not enough?

I like Drouin and would love to see him succeed at C but if they've made their homework, Drouin despite being a good playmaker/passer, is not that good defensively, on face-offs and plays a very risky game with the puck.

I'm all for playing Drouin at C but I thought before his injury, Galchenyuk had a good progression at C and then gets injured, can't find the same pace and that's it for him.

Draft AG, says he's a C, then extends DD and push AG on wing.

Start playing AG at C after 3-4 years.. then starts the season with AG at center, team plays great, AG in the points leader in the league, gets injured.. and that was it for AG as a C.

Trade for a winger, that has less success than AG at C.. and calls him our next C..

Great vision and planning.

The draft, with Sergachev or with Subban. You know, the big pieces he moved or the way he said he was going to do it 5 years ago.

Everyone knows that Bergevin always has something up his sleeve, he works the phones harder than almost any GM in the league. There isn't any reason to think he's got some big plan, when virtually all his moves seem to be made in a vacuum.

That is an apt description of the inside of his head.

I mean... it's not surprising. The guy went to the press to say if you want loyalty, buy a dog. He could have just left it alone and kept it behind doors, but he just had to make a comment.

Be honest, do you really think that was the straw that broke the camels back? That was what drove Radu to Dallas?

Lets say he left it behind closed doors what would you blame next for Radu leaving? The tie MB wears?

It seems Geoff Molson name dropped Tavares today. He was talking about how he and Marc talk everyday. Molson likes to know what's going on so there are no surprises. And when a big deal like the Price extension is in play, he is part of the process. He then mentioned that he and Marc talk about everything, like Tavares for example.

Bergevin said he didn't make that trade hoping Drouin will be able to play center.

Wing or center he would still make that trade.

Isnt it against league rules to talk about potentially acquiring players under contract with other teams?

This Bergevin is an even bigger let down than Gainey was. I had bi expectations from both men when they were hired. At least Gainey had a reason. The death of his daughter derailed him. What reason does MB have?

MB was not derailed though. He was just bad from the start

I'm not sure he broke a rule here. I could be wrong. But he didn't say they are in negotiations to trade for him. I think saying they're in talks to get him is breaking the rules, the way Benning spoke about Subban last year.

In this case, he just said that he and Marc talk about everything and everyone.

So what's plan B for that #1 center. Screw #1. How about #2? He said that they traded for Drouin with the idea of experimenting with him at the #1 center position. Go read the twit.

How about if this moron, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, decided to do his job and trade for a centerman. Drouin was a luxury we couldn't afford.

Do you believe it's helpful for a GM to negotiate in the media using insults, arbitrary deadlines and taking offers "off the table" as his go-to strategies?

Look at the optics of the negotiation for Radulov based on what Bergevin said publicly and in contrast what Nill said. One was highly complimentary and professional, the other confrontational and aloof. Perhaps you believe that players are immune to these idiotic tactics. I certainly don't. At best it's disrespectful.

Bergevin is not the charming, good natured fellow he feigned to be early in his tenure. He is an arrogant, mediocre GM who frequently plays hardball with his skill players and happily signs over the deed to the ranch to his pluggers. The man is in way over his head and is the epitome of Peter's Plateau. I don't believe Montreal will ever win a Cup with this guy at the helm.

I don't need to read any tweet, it's what he said.

He traded for a young dynamic top 6 player.

Danault is your #2!

If they give the #1C to Drouin on a silver platter and keep Chuck on the wing then this organisation is even more ridiculous than I tought

Drouin has even less experience at center overall (both minor and pro). So please tell us (Bergevin and Co. And posters over here), how Drouin can be any better?

Thanks to our GM we have to Gamble on Drouin, who Yzerman and Cooper also saw as a winger.
I want fairness. It doesn't look good.

Fairness? Chucky's been playing at center for 2 years in a row now!? He didn't get a chance, that's what you're trying to tell us here?

If Drouin can't do the job he'll get moved back to the wing, I don't get all the fuss.

Fairness..what ? It's NHL hockey...not about fairness

Galchenyuk has no vision whatsoever and has a low IQ.

Drouin is 10X better to distribute the puck.

Galchenyuk will score a lot with the one timer this year..because..Drouin will find him on the power play.
