I'd take Little over Pyatt
Setoguchi over Downie

That would have provided with some awesome offfensive firepower while sacrifincing little in terms of grit. Setoguchi is physical and shoots hard. But whatever, we'll still contend for a medal and possibly the gold. The crop of '87s looks strong.

The rest is fine and maybe switch Dubnyk for Ellis just based on a hunch. I know Ellis performed like **** but he's clutch, kinda like Corey Crawford a couple of years ago.
Little is a great young talent. However, Pyatt is an excellent fourth line player while Little wouldn't do as well on the fourth line.

I would have liked to see Setoguchi there. I would like to see him there over Bertram. I don't know why some people don't want Steve Downie there. He will be the fan favourite at Vancouver. He has a lot of skill and is an aggitator. He made a mistake in junior and he has turned the corner with the Petes.

Ellis is not clutch. Every big game he has, he's chocked. The top prospect's game and the Team Canada camp. He did very poor last year in the playoffs as well.

What most people forgot to mention is that he (in the end) made 17 saves out of 20 shots. He let in about 3 out of the first 4 or five, after that nothing. Huge difference.
No matter, he should be there next year.

Go Canada Go!

So, after putting his team down three, Price becomes a good goalie? Tht is world championship calibre?

Hopefully Price does come in next year with a much better camp. He played himself right off of this team.

You obviously haven't followed him extensively enough.

Let's have a look at things here:

WHL vs Russia
Dubnyk 2 weak goals against, Price no goals (Dubnyk starts Price come in cold)

Selection camp
Dubnyk's first game 4 ga 3 weak goals, looked shakey
Price's game 1 ga no weak goals, played very well

Dubnyk's 2nd game 5 ga 2 weak goals, made some good saves
Price's 2nd game 3 ga 2 weak goals, Price was outstanding after that (Dubnyk starts Price comes in cold with team down 5-1 so Price did not put his team down 3).

According to the paper Dubnyk has his own hotel room.

Sutter says the 3 goalies besides Pogge were all bad because he can't say Dubnyk was better than Price. He has to have some reason to justify his selection. Everyone who was there knows Price was head and shoulders better than Dubnyk.

The decision was made before the camp started.

Price went home and beat a strong Kelowna team last night 2-1 stopping 31 shots. Good for him, great character.

You need grinder, role players like Pyatt. And Downie brings an edge to the team that is also needed. You can't just rate all the players and take the top 20.

People also fail to recognize that players like Pyatt and Downie do have a great offensive touch, so if you add that to the role they're going to play, it's a great dimension that makes this team really well rounded.

Yeah it's a conspiracy. :shakehead

They were looking for a backup goalie, so your argument about Price being cold is ridiculous.
As for Dubnyk rooming alone, Sutter divided the 34 players into 2 different teams (17 players each) who lived, ate and played together. So one player of every team had to room alone. The players were flipping for the spare room.

I'll concede your reasoning but the other numbers speak for themselves. I was there, the choice was a joke.

I should add that I am not trying to disrespect Devan as a person or as a player. He is a well spoken young man from what I have seen and a very good goaltender. I wish him all the best. However, based on play in this camp Price was the better goalie. The choice has been made, it's time to move on. I'm looking forward to going to the games. Go Canada!

:teach: Watch out for this kid. He has huge accelaration and top speed. Add in good hands and an above average shot and playmaking abilities. His speed alone can make him a game breaker for team Canada.

I agree. I can't believe he slipped down to the Oilers draft slot.
He has wicked offensive talent, and is probably the best skater in this tourney.
