Many top nations are very happy that there will be no relegations this year. Sweden/ Czech Republic/ Canada are safe.

Henrique , Kuemper aren't some random scrubs and the young guys like Vilardi and Comtois aren't that bad either. Pretty sure Henrique is the highest paid player on any roster on in the tournament.

Kind of like the same situation as in Sweden. Rakell, Kempe, Lundeström and Sörensen (even worse addition than Canada really), but the structure is garbage and the team plays pathetic hockey.

I think Swiss have a good shot, they probably will need to score a bit more to beat Russia. They’ve looked off today compared to game against czechs

At least the US squad has some NHL experience and an actual purpose behind their play. Sure, Canada has some bottom line NHL scrub I've never heard of, but it mostly looks like some college players on vacation.

Some late 90s teams were pretty bad, before Hockey Canada started tying Olympic invitations to playing here. But even then they only bottomed out at 6th place overall.

The US, the doping banned Russia (ROC) and Finland are the medal candidates IMO so far. Most teams are really subpar and the lack of audience only enhances bad play instead of lifting the players.
