Seems like the rule was that players would be able to be added to the roster as a replacement if they drop below the 6 healthy D/12 healthy forward threshold, but they made an “emergency exemption due to unforeseen circumstances” to let Harley be readily available without technically being part of the team even though Makar wasn’t ruled out until game time.

personally I think the rules should’ve been set so that he’d be able to replace Theo from the jump but whatever. I don’t care that they were able to add a replacement it’s just a bush league look for them to be changing the rules already

It was a dumb rule and this is a one off event. Nobody should want to see a team have to play short in a big game like this....when a lot of the concern seems to be about players getting out of this tournament healthy lol so just adjust on the fly rather then stick to a stupid rule.

They should've just had taxi squads or something, but maybe the fringe players wanted to go on vacation instead. Also shouldn't have made everybody lock in their teams so early.

That's what I'm worried about. Binnington can be absolutely lights out when he's on. I'm taking solace in that he has shown to be mentally fragile at times. Being a USA fan, I hope we get the latter Binnington rather than the former.
