It is pretty crazy that Levi went from playing jr.A season hockey to starter at the world jrs with no games in between.
Im a fan of Levi but it sucks for him he’s only faced around 45 shots all tournament so far. Still a little concerned about goaltending going into placement games.

The idea of a Byram - Makar pair is downright scary...

I don't think it's a good idea. Both guys are rover type defensemen. Maybe in five years once they've reigned in their aggressiveness to a better extent. Right now, it'd become a mess once the Avalanche turn over the puck. Both will be down near the goal line.

This is the worst Swiss team I can remember at this tournament in a long time.

They've been getting really bad in the last few years. Barely developing any real NHL prospects, as well. I wonder what happened. Can any Swiss fans tell us what's happened in recent years that now they are having drafts where they don't even have any guys drafted? They had the 1OA not too long ago.

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more Buffalo fans posting about Cozens.

They are generally a quiet fan base. Don't hype their players that much. But Cozens has been great since being drafted. No player from that 2019 first round has been as consistent, in my opinion, since Cozens. He's been great everywhere he's played since that draft. I've been really impressed.

and see who he was playing with compared to schools like BC, Wis, etc. you would know why his numbers were that way.

Can you name 1 player without looking that played at BU? I know you can't.

This is disingenuous.

Boston University had 12 draft picks on their roster last year. They have players such as David Farrance, Patrick Harper, Jake Wise, Robert Mastrosimone, Dom Fensore. Plenty of known draft picks. Zegras was the only really highly touted guy, but there were plenty of good players on his team. You compare it to BC and Wisconsin, but BC only had 10 draft picks on their roster, and Wisconsin only had 7. BU was also a lot better of a team than Wisconsin, and not that much worse than BC.

Thats not to suggest he wasn't good in College Hockey. He was good, but this idea that he didn't play with good players is simply not true. In fact, Farrance was a First Team All-American. He's a great defenseman at the college level.

I agree and he’s a hard player not to like, such a classy and hard working player with elite speed, skating stride and all around skill set. Very clean player I find and plays hard between the whistles. I think he’s a future NHL captain down the road.

List bc, bu and Wisconsin's top 5 players. The fact you named those players like they are going to be nhl players is funny. You really try too hard on your posts I give you props on that.

He played with some decent COLLEGE hockey players but the other 2 teams have nhl talent.

The lower seeds are REALLY bad this year. There are always bad, but not usually THIS bad.

Yeah, I don't recall so many lower seeds being this bad before. Maybe it's just my memory, but I remember that 2005 WJC club with Crosby, Bergeron, Perry, Getzlaf, etc. being absolutely DOMINANT and arguably the best team Canada has ever sent. But I don't remember them playing a bunch of "stat padding" games like this year's TC has done in 2 out of 3 matches.

Makar is not a rover defenceman. He actually plays quite a traditional style of defence. I think people look at his point totals and assume he’s roaming wherever he wants, but that’s not the case at all.

I try too hard? You are the one that is criticizing every player who was drafted by your rival team. Byfield, Kaliyev, Turcotte. Don’t forget that Parik, Faber, Spence, Simontaival, and Chromiak were also drafted by the big bad Kings.

You made a highly misleading statement. I simply provided context. If you could’ve represented it accurately, there would’ve been no need for me to make a post.

I criticized them for what was happening on the ice? Before today Byfield was invisible and Turcotte has been disappointing. I guess you missed all my posts about Faber. Turcotte is supposed to be the best player on team USA. Anyways this is the last post I'll see from you, as others have said to you, have a good night.

Keller played on a similar calibre BU team and did just fine. The fact of the matter is Zegras' college numbers are closer to that of Mittelstadt and Jost than they are Boeser/Connor/Keller's.

You know who are good college hockey players? 21-22 year old men that play college hockey.

A good college senior can be better than a future freshman NHL player.

It's like everyone has to be a phenom or they will be trash.

Also, anyone trying so hard to prove that their favorite team's prospect is the best around is lame.

Zegras is awesome. Congratulations. No guarantees though, just like we don't know if Byfield, Turcotte or Kaliyev will pan out.

I won a $1k bet with a Ducks fan based on who would have a better five year run starting in 2014. He made the bet based on the prospect pool. Look at both of us now, picking in the Top 5.

Happy for you

This would require a goalie change for Switzerland. Different starter or an early mercy pull for Fatton. But watching Canada against Slovakia and how relatively easy of a night Hlavaj had with mostly routine saves, I don't see the Canadians putting 9 behind Fatton. Not gonna happen.
I mean I had a feeling after Finland game that this will end 9-10 to 0..
