To get a shot on the goal?
The review.
That said, 6 is fine goal wise as well.
To get a shot on the goal?
Not a chance - It`s Finland - Germany and Canada - Swiss. They meet again in the quarters if they win their games. What was with the 2 different commercial breaks during Finland's 5 min PP on that major? I think that Canada would've probably won regardless of this, so it's not an excuse and I'm just wondering.
I've seen commercial breaks during major penalties before but I don't remember seeing one PP/PK with two different commercial breaks. I hate the fact that they do put commercial breaks at all during power plays. I can't imagine if the situation was reversed, so that Canada would be trailing behind 2-5 and getting some momentum like Finland did, but it would still be played in Canada. I don't think that two different commercial breaks would've happened there in that case to help Finland. That must have been a little home team special.
Anyways, this was a good learning experience for Finland and I think that Finland vs Canada in the final will be a much closer game. I do think that these teams will meet again there.
Conor Mehdard. Amirite?
He's been great. "Excellent" is a bridge too far for me.Uh no. He has been excellent.
It also blows my mind to think that he’s 2.5 years younger than McTavish for example.

They need to find a place on the PP for him - he's struggled.
If you don’t think his performance as a newly turned 17 year old is excellent up against 19 year olds, then the problem is with your expectations.
This performance against other kids his age in the CHL is excellent, let alone a U20 international tournament that is pretty close to best on best.
I can sort of understand the yearning to expect a higher gear from him, I’d be lying if I’m not waiting for a super shift from him every time he’s on the ice, but to say his play overall has been short of excellent is pretty confusing.
I’m also not sure if it’s fair to judge him right now as the Connor Bedard playing at the WJC in his draft year.
A lot can change from now until December, and I would assume it’s a lot easier to pick up hockey when you’re in you’re within season form. It’s not an excuse, everyone else is playing in Mid-August too.
I think we’ll see another gear this December from him that will meet the wildest of expectations.

Semifinal. Not a chance - It`s Finland - Germany and Canada - Swiss. They meet again in the quarters if they win their games.
Youre right. Kinda funny though, as quarter is 25% and it should actually refeer to teams left?Semifinal.
Watched the highlights this morning. Not sure what game you watched.Yeah maybe we have but our coach is too idiot to make any changes right now.
Meriläinen is a sieve who can't catch even floorball,
Now you're qualifying "excellent". And, under your new definition, I'd agree. If you don’t think his performance as a newly turned 17 year old is excellent up against 19 year olds, then the problem is with your expectations.

Agree. Rumor is Flyers didn't draft him because they didn't want the appearance of nepotism. So jealous that the Sens have Greig. Kids gonna be a fan favourite.
Agree. TBH, he looked "lost" (too strong a word) tapping his stick in front of the net during the PP surrounded by Finns. Give the kid some space to be creative. Not a fan of placing him in the bumper spot.
I get that you want to open up things for other guys on the PP because he is so dangerous and will demand attention. But, I just think he's so wasted there. He should be even sitting at the deep point and just trying to threaten with his skating or sick release. If defenders want to puck watch and come to him, he needs to find the open man.
Sounded like they were trying to get McTavish out there against the Finns top line. Sounded like the plan was if they shutdown the top line there won't be any issues winning. What's with the coach, benching and messing up the 1st line? They score 2 ES goals 10 minutes into the game then Bedard and Othmann had extended periods of time sitting around (only 9 minutes and 8 minutes of total ice time each) while he threw McT with every player in the lineup. 3rd period was a shit show and after Canada was dominating most of the game, he started playing with fire and messing it up. Didn't see the logic. Don't fix what's not broken.
Agree with very little here. But the passion and your figures of speech are hysterical!40 minutes absolute bullshit and last 20 min passable game and only 3 goals lose.
Periods 1 and 2 we were blowing into our balls and just watch that how Canada dominates.
3 period powerplay with only one lucky bounce goal
was so sickening shit even 12 yrs old peewee players are able to play better
and more dangerous powerplay than Antti '' mr smartass'' Pennanen's U20 lions
which were actually neutered kittens tonight.
Hopefully finally even last-one over positive Finn realise that Canada in only gold medal favorite in this tournament.
We have to grow balls next game and be much better than that what we were today.
Antti Pennanen this is for you.
If you have balls and guts to react and make huge changes in our defence and goaltending games
before the quarterfinals start doing your job right now
and if you want only stand like brainless prancie and do nothing
then get the hell out of all Finnish national team coaching jobs for ever.
You're weakest link so f*** off or do your job idiot.
LOL! Not me.Complete side note, but anyone else hearing random noises that sound like the post is being hit? A few times now when I wasn't paying attention I heard a post and looked up and the play was at center ice, lol
Yes way to instill confidence and to dictate a game...if Canada loses this coach is the one who is gonna be questionedWhat's with the coach, benching and messing up the 1st line?
