Woot.. Good start.. I really like the physical play that Canada has. With those jerseys, they certainly don't look intimidating... But looks are deceiving.

Also.. Small touch of bias.. But... POGGE OMG WOW. ;)
 
Nice snipe from Cogliano. Pogge sure looks sharp in Canada's net, controls the rebounds well and is steady playing the puck, which will help out the transition game.

Russia seems a little bit wreckless out on the ice, taking many needless penalties.
 
Does anyone know of any site that posts stats after the game like plus/minus, shots on net by each player, minutes played and face-offs won/lossed by each player. Thanks in advance.
 
Just a question here. What happened to Jeff Glass? I don't think he is playing for any NHL teams, is he over 20 or something?

From what i see on hockeydb

He played in 5 games with Binghamton and is now with the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL

Went 1-3-0, 4.12GAA, .882% with Binghamtom and 4-2-2, 2.90GAA, .915% with Charlotte
 
Thanks for responding. I always thought it is weird that a great goalie that plays for Canada just disappears the next year.
 
Would anybody say this game, if we win, would be a good assessment of team Canada's skill? Russians are known for not playing to their full potential until it really matters.
 
Canada is hitting a lot and the Russians are taking a lot of chippy, stupid penalties. Unless they change, the American power play will eat them alive.

And how in hell did the Leafs pass up a guy like Cogliano when he was playing in their backyard?

cause we needed a goalie, dont count out rask until he is fully developed
