Reminder, even though for this game it's hopefully not an issue...

This is not the place for politics. Ultimately it's up to you to control yourself. If any of you get warned or banned for it, don't DM and further waste our time. You all know the rules that you agreed to. Control yourself.

Further to that, that includes talking about how the national anthems are being received. We all know the current situation between Canada and the USA. Let's just focus on the hockey.

One would think Canada slams the door shut early and often on this one, eh?

Roster selections may continue to plague this Team Canada.

Pooper Scopper is not prone to in game adjustments either.

Maybe play that Hill guy, what have they got to lose in the nets?

hope for the best, 3-2 Canada win in regular time.

Win or die!

If Canada can't get the job done here in regulation, they don't deserve another crack at the USA on Thursday.

Time to up their play collectively.

Go Canada Go.

if I understand it correctly, either team’s regulation win makes the evening game irrelevant?

I believe so, in terms of who qualifies for the championship game. Both teams own the tiebreaker over Sweden, who can achieve a maximum of 5 points (by defeating the United States in regulation).

That said, if the game goes to overtime, then winner will finish on 4 points, which opens the door to Sweden defeating the United States in regulation to qualify for the championship game at the expense of both Canada and Finland.

All that considered, now that I’ve typed it out and kind of thought out loud, is that a regulation win by either team in this game will clinch a spot in the championship game.

If cooper does not start Hill, I have lost loads of respect for him as a coach.
As much crap Babcock got, he had the balls to make the right move.

Replaced Marty in 2010 with Bobby Lu and then Bobby Lu with Carey Price in 2014. Both replaced goalies won golds for team Canada.

This year we have the talking heads clinging to a cup win from 5 years ago and explaining that he won it on the same ice they’re playing the finals in!

How infuriating would us Canadians be if Canada wins in OT and the US let Sweden win in regulation.
If they can’t beat Finland in regulation, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

I agree. You have Crosby, mackinnon and mcdavid and an excellent supporting cast. You can’t beat Finland then get rekt

Blew a game 3-1 to Sweden to allow them to get a point + losing to Finland mean the Canadians have no one to blame but themselves. The US probably won't have Matt Tkachuk tomorrow either
And likely will sit helle as well. Though that shouldn’t matter the US should win this game, but like you said, don’t beat Finland in regulation, and you get what you get

The one thing that might help the Canadians if they do need help is that tomorrow is the first game in the US for this team in the States, first two were played in Canada, so they might get some juice there playing in front of the Boston crowd. The Swedes have gotten a bit unlucky in OT, I think they can definitely give the US game with Tkachuk missing and like you said with Helly prob sitting as well

The NHL style of play of allowing obstruction/interference to be allowed has ruined this tournament. The hockey has been awful. The skill has been completely removed. Whichever team can take advantage of that will win and good on them I guess but the entertainment value of these games has been disappointing.
