This Canadian team will do that. This is a stack team
I think Rangers didn't want to send Laf for that reason. Can you imagine him on this team?

Same reason that the Leafs didn't send Robertson, Devils didn't send Hughes, and the Rangers didn't send Kakko. The guy who claims to have made the decision is Canadian. If Lafreniere had played at this tournament, he'd have missed training camp, and probably the start of the season, as well.

Love the socks, at first all I saw was Petro Canada but F it, the Maple Leaf is unique let’s use it in our design more. Better than 2 lines.

I’m not a fan of the socks myself.
:) Not Petro Canada socks, but a homage to 1972 Summit Series. And I love them too...

He would have gotten in great game shape in playing this tournament and why would he had miss the start of the season?
Would he had have to quarantine for 14 days before being able to play in the league?

Holloway reminds me of Darren Helm. Great speed and energy, good pk skills, but lacking in the offense department. I think he will be a good bottom 6 player in the NHL, which is probably a slight disappointment considering where he was drafted.

So you don't think he'll ever hit 35 points? I think you are underselling Holloway. Helm also relies a lot more on speed. I don't think Holloway is ultra-skilled, but I think he has more offense in his game than Helm.

Boy, do I ever miss the Canada/USA NYE games. Remember that tradition, It went on for several years. They were always mammoth battles. White knuckle, edge of your seat drama. This friggin snore fest was a huge letdown.

Why did it stop? seemed like it was solidified to become a permanent tradition.

Interesting comparing to 2019. The Finns lost the last RR Game vs US 4:1(1:0, 2:0, 1:1). Now vs Canada the same. Hockey is crazy! We don t know waht is the next.

Laf already led Canada to a gold in 2020 so no worries if he's not here.

It depends who Holloway plays with. If he's with a McDavid or Draisaitl he could definitely be over 35-40 points

No it actually is a very bad Team Finland i've been saying it ever since the start go read Team Finland roster thread.

As a neutral, I agree. Don't like this Finnish team. Offense is watered down from what it could be (Kakko, Puistola, Raty, Tuomaala), the defense doesn't have any real high end defensemen aside from Heinola, and the goalies are simply not up to the standard of goalies like Askarov, Knight, Alnefelt, Wallstedt, Wolf, Parik, even probably Levi.

Were actually agreeing on something you and i:D Guess you can't always have contender teams concistently with a country this small. But it's very questionable decision making leaving out good quick footed skaters whom are needed in tournaments like this.

I believe it's 10 days once he crosses back over the border. This tournament is over on the 5th. Canada almost always is playing a game on that day. 10 days from the 5th is the 15th. The team's first game is the 14th. And then there's that he would have missed all of training camp as a rookie.

I think Finland will be better next year. Lambert and Raty as the 1-2 down the middle is strong. Finland should also be pretty strong in net as Blomqvist has consistently been one of the best goalies in his age group. Finland also will return a bunch of other players such as Jarventie, Hirvonen, Helenius, Simontaival, Niemela, Rafkin, Puutio, Viro that'll add depth.
