How do you do that multi answer thingy?I’m sure Buffalo would like him in their lineup ASAP, like starting this season.

I don't have a problem with Zegras being MVP. I think if you take him out of the lineup, it hurts his team more than any other team/player not playing goalie.MVP.
**** Zegras (he’s been great and I’m kidding. Kind of)
Whenever you reply, you get the last word, my friend. I am off to bed. Happy New Year, PB, and don't forget to vote in my Quarter Final poll.I thought in both games Sweden's lost that they got out-goaltended significantly. I thought against Russia they outplayed them slightly, and against the US they didn't get outplayed to the extent that 4-0 indicates. I also think they have two good goaltenders, so I would say its just some random bad luck with that.
Finland, what's their identity? They have undrafted guys in net, they only have one real top-end defenseman in this tournament. They have 2-3 good forwards, but it doesn't seem like they have any consistently good lines. It seems like more or less a good shift here or there from Lundell and Lambert that creates all their points. I think it's a weak Finnish team. I've watched every game in this tournament, and I would say they are clearly the worst of the big five going into the knockout round games.

This is Canada’s tournament to lose. They just look so much better than all the other teams so far
Characteristic, even charming, Finnish pessimism.
Not really. Empirical evidence, i.e. the composition of the team and the games played by the team, lead to this conclusion. What they have shown and what their coaching staff has shown (or rather, hasn't shown) really doesn't allow high expectations. Realism =/= pessimism.
You can only win the games in front of you, and Canada walked over Finland today. Looked like they were playing Austria. How can you say that? The only serious team they've played is Finland, and I can still see Finland beating them in an elimination game. Meanwhile there's Sweden, Russia, and the US on the other side.
GG's Canada that was one hell of a performance by your team.
Still feel the heartbreak from that game after a good sleep though. Like yeah we probably don't have the most talented group ever here, but there's some players to like in there. To be dominated to a degree where we can't even get out of our own zone is just... damn depressing. Only gotta think that wouldn't happen again if there was a rematch, but at the moment not sure I'd even want that chance![]()
I'm glad to be back, aren't you? What I know is the Finnish community here always talks down their team until they beat you, and then they dance on your grave. I don't blame them. Everyone dances. Few talk down their team so much though. They've won 3 of the last 8 tournaments, same as Canada. They're the second seed here, not that they want you to know it.
Yeah it seemed like the Finns were just totally caught off guard and had no idea the kind of relentless forecheck they were in for in this game and really couldn't make even the slightest adjustment to it until sometime in the 3rd period when it was to late. Some of that was squarely on the coaching staff. It's one of their most important pre-game jobs to get the team ready, to find the level of compete and mentality necessary for facing an opponent. They failed there big time.
I'll never forget that. It was around my age group and I knew a few players on the team LOL! I was in first year UNI and me and my hometown boys were in stitches laughing at Pierre and his comments. A holiday treat he was haha.

Some might say Canada is the only serious team in the tourney. Sweden is no better than Finland, Russia lost to the Czechs and was shutout by Canada in the warmups, the US lost to an underwhelming Russia and is only beating mediocre/tired teams, like Canada. At this point it looks like the US is the only actual competition for Canada.
You keep adding to your top end talent though for future senior events especially best on bests where a victory is coming sooner or later...................Lambert is going to be one heck of a player, it's plain to see for anyone with eyes.GG's Canada that was one hell of a performance by your team.

Cozens kind of reminds me of Mark Stone, with his size, tenaciousness on the forecheck, and ability to strip the puck/win puck battles because of the forecheck.
Not sure he's ultimately got the offensive upside of Stone, but he looks kind of like Stone-lite out there.
I mean we can all agree that this year there is no serious competition outside the usual suspects, the minor powers didn’t bring it this year and it’s been a lacklustre tournament so far with few competitive games. Some might say Canada is the only serious team in the tourney. Buffalo drafted Cozens to play 2nd line Centre but I believe he's more suited to play 2nd line RWing! Cozens is a Winger not a Centre in the NHL I believe, kind of where he's playing now in this Tourny!Cozens kind of reminds me of Mark Stone, with his size, tenaciousness on the forecheck, and ability to strip the puck/win puck battles because of the forecheck.
