40 minutes of hockey, plenty of time here. Hope to see some improved officiating, can't be missing the Finns with 6 players on the ice and can't be handing away PP's for obvious dives. Clean it up refs. All the fans want is legit professional calls.

We laugh in the face -30 Celsius weather.

In fact I prefer -15 Celsius to +35 Celsius like it was here in Alberta last week.

We love our frozen lands. Let’s us play the best sport on earth outside with members of our community.

It’s the exact same with the same love of the sport in Suomi as well.
Same here. Summer can just sod off.

Look at and see how the IIHF REALLY favours Finland. Oh wait, it does not.
That said, the refereeing has sucked all the tournament, no surprise the suckage will continue. It's just mildly surprising for a hockey fan to see the same suckage over and over every year in the IIHF championships.

Not saying they are favouring the Finns. Just saying it was an awful call that led to the goal. If Canada doesn't score 1 to get it back, we weren't going to win, anyway.

Glad to be discussing Hockey in a forum of not only Hockey lovers, but Winter admirers.

Summer is the ultimate disaster. Feeling like 38 degrees today and counting down the days until -38.

Exactly, I liked Canada’s play generally 5 v 5.

Not getting enough pucks to the middle of the ice though, the Finns always collapse well in the middle around their net. Need to force pucks and traffic into that area, can’t just sit on the perimeter.

What's with the crying about refs? If one botched highsticking call is all it takes, guess you guys have never seen actually terrible refs.

FWIW... yeah the refs suck, they have all tourney every tourney. Nothing shocking to be honest. It's a not a conspiracy against Caanada.. it's just bad reffing. Before it's over there might be some pissed off Finn's too.lol

Please know I wrote that before looking and realizing the main ref is Czech.haha

Secondly, I can't think of one diving or dirty Finn in the NHL. Maybe Komorov? Not exactly a nation of divers and rule breakers.

Does anyone have a replay of the first two team Canada penalties? So far I am reading comments about conspiracies, corruption, incompetence and the right call (HFBoards - never change :D). For some reason, the broadcast I am watching did not show any proper replay of the two calls.

And as a hockey fan - nobody is doubting the sometimes incompetent IIHF refs. Yes, the Olympics need NHL reffing, imho - sad but true. But I reserve my judgement on the officiating on this game until I see proper replays. I don't think us coach potato observers can always see what really happened.

At least I have to say the Canadian playing style is always more entertaining to watch - I love how they are so aggressive on penalty killing. Team Finland can never even hope to match them in skill, but the best thing about hockey is you can overcome these disadvantages with strong team game.

Really sloppy powerplay for Team Finland.
Our guys can't even keep puck in the offensive zone or shoot to score when we have a powerplay.
Being honest Canada should lead this game 1-2. WAKE UP FINLAND.

Canada skated better and had better possession, but Finland got more high danger scoring chances generated, was a good period.

Friends from Finland, tell us more about the city of Tampere.

I see the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame is there, anyone visit it?

What other Hockey related sights to see around those parts?
