Russia's only hope is bob stands on his head. Canada's depth will overpower the russian bottom two lines.

Canada's going to dominate. It's not just the unreal talent on the ice, it's the coaching also. Just look who's standing there behind the players; Babcock, Quenneville, Julien, Trotz. This team comes prepared. Look at the Sochi prep and what they did there. These guys are like a well oiled machine from top to bottom, coaches to players.

Bob's been amazing this tournament, so I think he will keep it close... and may give Russia a chance to win! If Canada plays like they can, they should win. But will they?

Hoping for a big game from Stamkos (fourth game, it's Getzlaf line's turn), but who am I kidding?

Going back to the WJHC's of 05 and 06, this generation of Canadian players has absolutely owned their Russian counterparts. Many games having very lopsided results in Canada's favour.

True. But interestingly, Russia has five players on the current roster from the 2011 WJHC team that came back from 0-3 to beat Canada for gold.

No Canadians from that team are on the Canadian roster.

From the 2007 Super Series team that beat the Russians winning 7 games and 1 tie over 8 games, Canada has: Doughty, Marchand, Tavares, and Giroux.

I am actually a bit nervous about this game. In a One Game showdown- anything can happen. That being said- i think Canada edges this one out. Will be a close game.

I must say I didn't expect Russia to reach semi final expecting a loss to Sweden and NA.

Now, it's the final for us. If we eliminate Canada, I don't even care if we win the trophy.

K you forgot a few :D

Top 6 of Russia is pretty darn scary, and Bob can put some magic out there, but basically, Russia would have to overcome:

- The best goaltender in the World
- Second best D-Corps of the WCH
- Without a doubt the best Offensive force of 'em all.

Russia and Sweden have a chance, sure, but in Russia's case, not a great one, let's just say that.

Who after 10 months isn't quite playing like it. The last period vs. team USA, yikes. Sure it was over but man those posts. You know as well as I goaltending can be the one intangible that defeats an otherwise bullet-proof team. I think Crawford would be a safer bet.

This is clearly the toughest team Canada has faced, Russia does have a small element of surprise on their side. Not expecting an upset but it'd be nice to see a real challenge.

Playing USA in the third period was like trying to play a cheerful song at your parents funeral. It was pathetic. You could see and feel the states dying in front of us. Price literally intentionally took a delay of game penalty to get some energy going to end the game. Don't expect that in the semi's.

It doesn't matter that there are no Canadians from the 2011 team on the current roster. I was only trying to show that there is a younger generation of Russian players that succeeded at the junior level as well.

I see.

Russia has a bright future in my view. You've been lacking elite D. With Provorov, Sergachev, Paigin, and Zaitsev coming up, it's definitely improving. Zaitsev has looked good at the World Cup.

Have you watched Paigin much?

 Well said.

This is a game to look forward to! A genuine Canada Cup style classic, it doesn't get better than that.

Hard too say if canada has playing good, when they have been up against 3 bad teams in their group.

In other group there was russia, sweden and NA which all are way better than usa, cze and Europe. Dont know how canada could end up in such a ****** group, maybe bacause usa are always overrated in hockey.

So yes, IF canada now beat russia semi and sweden in final i will say canada was really worth it. But if canada loss against russia, canada would really go down in my eyes as good

Canada still havent won against a good team in this tournament and as it seems. Russia, sweden and NA are tye only teams that can play hockey this tournament beside canada.

Well, at least this matchup will make for a lot of good montages and nostalgia.
