How has dobson looked offensively? I'm getting the feeling he might not be this dynamic PMD PP1 QB.
It’s hard to say as Canada’s PP has been, at best, a gongshow.

I haven’t noticed Dobson much on the PP which is neither a good or bad thing I guess. In fact I don’t even recall whether he’s on the PP.

When I think d men on the PP, I think Bouchard firing a “Bouche Bomb” into shin pads.

Don't forget Tippett whiffing on one timers right in his wheelhouse and Comtois just skating around aimlessly.

He's had no PP time and played mostly 3rd pair for the majority of the tourney. He hasn't had a chance to showcase much offense.
that's fair, i guess i'll just have to watch more CHL games to see where his game stands. I look forward to his games in Rouyn-Noranda.

In fairness Bouchard has gotten some through but usually right into the goalie's chest.
This is true, however the fact he thinks firing it into that kind of traffic is a good idea shows his decision making skills.

Really the only good thing I can say about Canada’s PP is that it’s shown Suzuki is a phenomenal passer.

I would have said the same about Glass as my complaints about Tippett mostly stem from watching Glass thread passes cross crease through traffic right into the wheelhouse but 21 can't seem to ever get his stick on it. And everyone else Glass passes to its tape to tape. But I've known for a while that both he an Suzuki are good passers.

As for Bouchard, it's not always a bad idea to shoot through traffic but you have to be the kind of guy that can aim a shot through the traffic and exploit the goalie screen and too often, like you said, it ends up in the shin pads.

I agree shots into traffic aren’t always a bad idea.

Having said that, as an ex defencemen, you need to recognize a shooting lane with 2-3 guys in it and a shooting lane with 4-5.

He likes to fire at the 4-5.

All of his PP shifts look very similar. Shot from the point. Shot from the point. Doesn't seem to matter what else is going on, gotta shoot from the point.

Well.....when you build a team that sacrifices defence for scoring but doesn’t score....this is the end result.

So in your massive mound of a post, you insist last year was different because of how close the game was against the US but we're supposed to be convinced otherwise due to a 2-1 loss to Russia? Seems inconsistent
Seems like all I said in my "massive mound of a post" was pretty much bang on, all the problems I talked about were there in spades against the Finns. They weren't there with last years team.

Been watching for a long time, I know what I am talking about.

This team vs the Jake Virtanen, Joe Hicketts disaster squad who wins?

This team was very untalented hopefully the 2019 draft picks can bring something more next year.

The Jake Virtanen 2015 team was okay they just had no discipline lol

I’m not sure where the praise for Smith came from I thought he was abysmal especially tonight.

The only good thing about losing to Finland is that we now don’t have to lose to the USA in the gold medal game.

Joe Hicketts also played like 30 minutes a game because Lowry was coach lmao. They also had bad goaltending and their D core was pretty crap but you're right they had good forwards IMO.

I don’t know about other countries but hockey is way to expensive in Canada, when I was a kid growing up in my small city in Saskatchewan there were about 150 kids playing pre novice. Now it’s about 50 maybe less. And if you want ur kid to get noticed or make it anywhere the amount of money ur spending on spring and summer hockey is a joke. I don’t know what can change but probably the 365 days per year of hockey is not necessary

Congrats to Finland they were the better team and deserved to win. This was the saddest roster I’ve ever seen. Hockey in Canada is getting weak.
