GDT: Canada - Latvia

Well, it was a trip but it was also an embellishment after the Latvian noticed he can't reach the puck anymore.

Ludicrous diving penalty against Latvia. Looks like the refs are incompetent both ways. They always are useless. Remember the ridiculous non-whistle that led to Canada’s goal for 3-1 against the Czechs? The supervisor apologised to the Czech team after the game, but how could it happen? Would not even happen in amateur hockey. And the inconsistencies are ridiculous, like the 2 mins that in any other game here led to 5 + game.

Welcome to IIHF reffing.

I am no longer surprised by anything.

It's sad that latvians started filming too. I blame the refs. It's hard to stay honest, when game is reffed this way.

Tuning in a bit late to this one. Have it PVR’d but I see Canada is down 2-1 so I’ll just keep watching it live.

Only saw the last couple minutes of the 2nd.

What is happening here?

because you are just pissy because Canada is playing in a game.

But you do you.
am I? How did you come to that conclusion? Like I said, I would prefer a Canadian win here. I have my reasons. Most of my life Canada has been my second most favorite national team. Even touchy fans like you don't turn me off.

Canuck fans have to be thrilled with his tournament.
Well doing it in one tournament is one thing, doing it in he NHL on a nightly basis with consistency over the course of a few seasons is quite another.

Seen a lot of these flash in the pans with goaltending in international tournaments.

Latvia being deadly from their chances and Canada peppering Sielovs, little bit of "goonery" but that's about it.

Seems like its been a parade to the penalty box. Need to clean that up
Canada has like 3 totally unnecessary penalties, one too many men, one stupid hack that broke Latvians stick, Fantilly punching a Latvian in the face after a slight scrum.

Then there was a tripping for Canadian and an embellishment for Latvian in the same play, lots of stupid shit.

Oh yeah, one offsetting minors for roughing too, i think that might be all the Canadian penalties, not sure.

Hopefully they stay out of the box and come out flying in the 3rd.

Canadian teams have long been known for late comebacks in international hockey.

Now would be a good time to summon that never say die attitude.

This (about the goal keeper I mean). Lots of hot goalies during a short tournament are on fire because they play for their country and/or for other reasons. Not all manage to back it up during the everyday slog of a long season. But good luck to Silovs, he has certainly been a rock for his team, hope he can consistently show his skills over the course of an NHL season.
