What I don't understand is why they are playing so differently from the first two games. That high-intensity cycle and forecheck game was the perfect playing style for this roster and they put on a clinic.

The team that showed up against Russia and Slovakia is literally the complete opposite to the team that played against the USA and the Czechs so far.

This was a disappointing roster at the start of the tournamanet with obvious weaknesses, and I said so then.

Yes, some of the top NHL picks on Canada have been very underwhelming this year. Not just points, but overall skill level is so much lower than what we generally see from top 5 picks.

I'm not sure if it's coaching forcing these kids into a system that hides their skillsets, or what.

Overall I would be happy for the Czechs if they can win, maybe even reach the final. They need some kind of boost like that to motivate their future players or something. We are about to lose another top nation, ice hockey is soon like Bandy, where you have Sweden vs Russia in the final every year.

The people criticizing the team selection are really misinformed. This team has played so much better in this tournament but something happened in that Latvia game and the team completely lost their game and they have not been able to get it back since.

I think it comes down to this team just not being all that skilled... Outside of Strome maybe there isn't really any marquee talent on this roster. It's a team of cogs with no one to actually make the motor run.
